Enthusiastic support for all kinds of sports plays a big role at Swatch, and in honor of football’s huge popularity in Brazil the Swiss watchmaker has created a special New Gent Lacquered, ENTUSIASMO (SUOZ175). 

ENTUSIASMO testifies to Swatch’s passionate belief in the values and importance of sports for young people. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each watch will be donated to the Gol de Letra Foundation, a non-governmental organization founded in 1998 by the former football players Raí and Leonardo. Recognized in 2001 by UNESCO as a world model for assistance to children and adolescents in an environment with social risks, today Gol de Letra assists some 1,300 children and young people in Brazil. The foundation approaches social themes by way of the arts, culture, education and sports, aiming to enable children and teenagers to act with autonomy to change their realities. 

The charitable donation from Swatch will be used to support two specific projects. In Rio de Janeiro, the “Two Moves Program” targets 250 children and teenagers, offering them weekly workshops of physical education, reading, writing, literature and informatics. The pedagogical program is linked to the social assistance given to children, adolescents and their families. 

In São Paolo the Swatch donations will go to support the “Open Game Program”, which offers sports and leisure activities including social and educational purposes to improve the capacity and skills of 450 young people. Its pedagogic methodology is dedicated to foster inclusion, diversity, dialogue environments, games and leadership, regardless of skills, gender, physical condition or age. 

ENTUSIASMO takes up the colors of the flag of Brazil: green, yellow, blue and white. The flag is also represented on the exchangeable loop around the strap. Fans of a particular team may also purchase separately one or more loops with flags from another 31 countries, and passionate followers of the game can acquire the entire set of 31 country flag loops. 

ENTUSIASMO comes in a special sleeve fitted with a window revealing the dial. Like the watch, the sleeve takes up the colors of the flag of Brazil, the home of the Gol de Letra Foundation, with a white goal-net motif set against a grass-green background and the triumphant cry, “GOOOOALL!!!” in blazing yellow.
