The most elegant Garden Party in the heart of the Prix de Diane Longines ecstatic races
The Prix de Diane Longines 2016 edition was officially launched at the press conference organized by France Galop and Longines, the Title Partner, the Official Timekeeper and the Official Watch of one of the year’s most hotly-contested racecourses. On Sunday 19 June, the Chantilly domain will burst into colours and host a bustling Garden Party to entertain elegant horseracing lovers. In addition to timing the nine races of the day, the Swiss watchmaker will celebrate feminine elegance with the "Mademoiselle Diane par Longines" award, which will be presented by Longines Ambassador of Elegance Eddie Peng.
On Tuesday 3 May, in Paris, Longines and France Galop unveiled the program of the 167th edition of the Prix de Diane Longines, which takes over the “Garden Party” theme, which was a great success last year. Thus, on Sunday 19 June, nine races will unroll at the Chantilly recourse; and the most expected, which lends its name to the raceday and happens to be the world's top race for fillies, will crown the best filly.
Moreover, young jockeys from all over the world and amateur lady riders of the FEGENTRI (International Federation of Gentlemen and Lady Riders) will demonstrate their talent by competing for respectively the Prix Longines Future Racing Stars and Prix de La Reine Marie-Amélie Longines. The development and outreach of equestrian sports are also built on the commitment of future stars and amateurs. Therefore the watch brand Longines strongly supports young athletes of these disciplines and the FEGENTRI by being its Official Partner and Timekeeper. Besides, the brand is also lending its name to the men's and women's championships organised by the federation, as well as the rankings of the participants: the Longines World FEGENTRI Champion Rankings for Lady Riders and Gentlemen Riders.
The riders starting orders of the three above mentioned races shall be determined by drawing lots, which will take place on Friday 17 June.
At the Prix de Diane Longines, where horseracing experts have been meeting up with fashionistas wearing spectacular hats for more than 170 years, time also becomes a symbol of precision, elegance and tradition – the three key-values of the watch brand Longines. This year, the Official Watch of the event will be the lady Longines DolceVita watch of the eponymous collection, heir to a tradition where elegance takes the leading role. The timepiece cased in steel, decorated with diamonds and featuring a silver-coloured “flinqué” dial adorned with painted Roman numerals, is set on a red leather bracelet. The "Mademoiselle Diane par Longines" award will be presented by Asian actor and Longines Ambassador of Elegance Eddie Peng to the woman who will have perfectly matched her outfit to the Official Watch.
The Swiss watchmaker is for the sixth time the Official Partner, Timekeeper and Watch of the Prix de Diane Longines. This association is part of its partnership with France Galop, which was renewed last year. Under this partnership, Longines is the Official Timekeeper for the racing days organized at the Chantilly, Deauville and Longchamp racetracks, including the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and the Prix du Jockey Club .
