The Longines Masters of Paris: four days of high level show jumping competition in a glamorous atmosphere

International top riders were in Paris this weekend for the second leg of the Longines Masters. As the Title Partner, the Official Timekeeper and the Official Watch of the event, Longines timed all the competitions. The Swiss watch brand also presented two highlights: the Longines Speed Challenge, won by Gregory Wathelet on Egano van het Slogenhof, on Friday and the Longines Grand Prix, won by Patrice Delaveau on Lacrimoso 3 HDC on Sunday.

After an exciting first leg in Los Angeles in October 2015, the Longines Masters stopped in Paris this weekend for its second stage. The series will end in Hong-Kong in February with the third and last leg. Longines is the Title Partner of the stage held in the French capital since 2009, and also the Official Timekeeper and the Official Watch of this high level show jumping competition.

Longines presented two highlights during the weekend. On Friday, the public saw the fantastic victory of Gregory Wathelet on Egano van het Slogenhof at the Longines Speed Challenge, known as the fastest competition of the world. The weekend ended with the Longines Grand Prix won by Patrice Delaveau on Lacrimoso 3 HDC. This technical course enables the riders to win the Superbonus of the Longines Masters.

The Swiss watch brand also competed to the charity Pro-Am competition on Saturday evening. This trial aims to raise funds for Amade, the foundation of Princess Caroline de Hanovre, which commits to the protection and blossoming of worldwide children. In this competition, each team consists of two riders, one from among the world's best professional riders and one “amateur”. The Longines team, which featured Jane Richard Phillips and Camille Condé-Ferreira, ranked first.

On Sunday, Longines participated to the action “Clear the Jump”, organized by JustWorld, an association which helps children to get out of poverty. During the Longines Grand Prix, 200 meals were offered every time the Longines jumps were cleared. Thanks to this action, Longines could contribute to offer 5’000 meals to the young people helped by JustWorld. In 2015, Longines has provided 57’000 meals to children benefiting from JustWorld projects through this action.

The Official Watch of the Longines Masters of Paris is a model from the new Longines DolceVita collection, which represents contemporary elegance of the Longines watchmaking brand worldwide. The watch is a steel lady model decorated with diamonds and featuring a silver-coloured “flinqué” dial adorned with painted Roman numerals. 

The public attending the Longines Masters of Paris could discover the new Longines DolceVita and many other collections of the Swiss watch brand in the Village Prestige. For the first time in Paris, Longines offers the opportunity to buy its elegant timepieces on site.
