Facts and figures of great importance, in particular those related to the increase in the number of entries that, unlike many of the other similar events, registers an upward trend by 15% compared to last year, a significant fact that once again confirms the value of this unique event.

Organised by Mantua Racing, Mantua Automobile Club and the Tazio Nuvolari Museum, the competition sees as usual the cars departing from Piazza Sordello, Mantua, then travelling 1000 km through the Italian countryside, reaching 7 UNESCO heritage sites, including Mantua itself, Modena, Urbino, Arezzo, Siena, Ferrara and Ravenna . The event, awaited by an enthusiastic audience of collectors and enthusiasts, combines healthy sporting competition and the pleasure of visiting extraordinary views in a winning formula, in honour of a legendary driver.

It is a story made of time, of passion and challenges that unites Eberhard & Co . with the great "Nivola " and the famous Gran Premio named after him. The prestigious Swiss Maison, specialising in the manufacture of high-tech timepieces, dedicated a special collection to the greatest legend of all time in motor sports as part of its wide range of timepieces, and since that moment has become the event’s official timekeeper and partner (1991). Also this year Eberhard will tick the time that leads to the starting grid of the new edition in style and elegance, adding the charm of its recent new products.

"While supporting many of the most significant events in the world of vintage cars - declares Mario Peserico, Managing Director of Eberhard & Co. – the "Nuvolari" is the one to which we are closest, for the importance that the race holds but especially for the charm and atmosphere of a competition in which the legend of Tazio is sensed behind every curve and along every straight road. We are getting ready to experience this new appointment with the certainties of always but also with many surprises: from the competition point of view we will be represented by the Classicteam-Eberhard, an exceptional partner with whom we have chosen to share this passion since 2010, that will line up 14 cars (6 of which are pre-war), in an attempt to replicate the memorable results achieved in 2012 and 2013.

An absolute novelty this year will be the presence with us, and for the first time at the Nuvolari, of Corrado Lopresto". Lopresto is a well-known collector of vintage cars, regularly invited to the most prestigious competitions of elegance in the world, winner of over 180 competitions including more than 40 Best in Show, the only one to have won the Gold Cup at the elegance competition of Villa d'Este four times and just back from the recent international victory at the Pebble Beach contest. The super-awarded driver will indeed be a pillar of the Classicteam-Eberhard, sporting an amazing AR 6 c 2500 Carrera Panamericana. The presence of Lopresto with a car of this level helps to increase further the prestige of this highly-anticipated event.

But the surprises are not finished: during the Gran Premio, Eberhard will present to the participants and the public the first preview of a new model in the Tazio Nuvolari collection, a line that is an expression of the historical bond of Eberhard & Co. with the world of vintage cars, now enriched for the first time by a “two-hands” model. Tazio Nuvolari Time Only is an automatic watch with stainless steel case (ø 42.50 mm) and distinctly sporty look, offered with black dial with a “perlée” area divided by 12 luminescent Arabic numerals profiled in red, date display, the driver’s signature and the initials "TN" on the white carapace situated on the opaque black central zone. The steel bezel is characterised by a steel circular insert coated in PVD, with relief indexes. The "Tazio Nuvolari" timepieces are created and manufactured with a design philosophy inspired by the dashboard instruments of racing old-timers. The cockpit of the extraordinary cars in which the "Flying Mantuan" won many victories was, for the Eberhard technicians, a real source of guidance and solutions, both aesthetic and functional. The instruments housed in the dashboard had to comply with the requirements of simplicity, clarity, ease of reading, accuracy, weather and vibration-proofing. The mechanics, design and performance are fundamental aspects in motorsport as they are in high-end watchmaking.

Ready to go then for three days full of emotions, sport and adrenaline, and for being protagonists of an event that - after almost thirty years of success – is confirmed as an international appointment of primary importance in the world of classic cars, but also an opportunity for fun and the discovery of secret corners and new perspectives of the wonderful Italian landscape: a spectacle to be lived for collectors, enthusiasts and amateurs!
