Cabestan Luna Nera

Cabestan Luna Nera

Cabestan defies the elements to become master of space and time: the oceans, the mountains, the sky ... no limit seems to resist ...

As a conqueror, against all odds, climbing peaks, every day man invents new methods to discover and tame the space that surrounds him.

It is in this spirit that Cabestan investigates the elements of nature: water, earth, sky, wind, fire... Cabestan plays with them, then challenges their laws and overturns conventional wisdom.

The intelligence of these achievements is the reliance on ancient wisdom with the chain and fuse system, boosting precision parts. The ingenuity and exclusive techniques break conventions and bring innovation. The noble materials such as nickel silver, in turn, reflect the values of the cradle of the origin of the products, the Vallée de Joux.

MECHANISM

This exceptional piece is composed of a manually wound movement: caliber CAB EC 102L, with 46 rubies. The mechanism indicates the hours, minutes, seconds and power reserve by drums, one characteristic of this collection. The time is semi-jumping for easier reading. The 3D moon at the center of the mechanism makes a total rotation within 29.5 days, as a real moon phase. It is represented by a sphere of 7.40 mm diameter.

The torque is transmitted from the drum barrel to the fuse via a chain. This concept allows a constant torque transmission throughout the power reserve (72 hours), ensuring greater accuracy in the measurement of time. The regulating component is composed of a tourbillon with a spring balance which has a frequency of 3Hz making one rotation per minute. The balance spring has a Breguet terminal curve and a Geneva stud. An end plate uniformaly distributes the curve of the spring.

The winding and time-setting are manually adjusted by two distinct crowns, a third one allows the setting of the moon.
