Official description

In 1972, the United States Military requested a watch for its soldiers that was far more robust than any watch previously requested and that could meet the requirements of the specialized UDT (Underwater Demolitions Team) divers and for field functionality - the Type I was born. Originally produced from 1972 through 1980, it was never made available to the public. Fifty years later, there is no need to look elsewhere than BENRUS to put an authentic Type I on your wrist. In honor of its military heritage, the new Limited Edition Type I brings back the same iconic design in its original form, but with all the improvements afforded by current watchmaking technology. Honoring the original details, every measure was taken to ensure the recreation of this improved, but true to original case, including a hacking Swiss ETA movement, original dial design and bezel aesthetics. The new Type I even meets the depth rating standards of the original military contract, rated to 30ATM and including the original case back inscription but with the current date and limited serial numbers for this edition only. For each timepiece sold, a donation is made to Boulder Crest Foundation, a non-profit and leader in Posttraumatic Growth that works to ensure combat veterans, first responders, and their families can live great lives in the aftermath of trauma.
