For the sixth year running, the Baume & Mercier watchmaking Maison is rewarding talented artists by presenting them with watches at the famous classical music festival held in Royan Un Violon sur le Sable.

ON JULY 23RD, ALAIN ZIMMERMANN HAD THE PLEASURE OF PRESENTING TWO PETITE PROMESSE (MODEL 10288) WATCHES TO A PAIR OF OUTSTANDING ARTISTS:

The prodigious soprano Tatiana Probst won a 1st Piano Prize and a Prize for Excellence in Chamber Music before studying voice and receiving a number of prizes in various international competitions. Tatiana Probst has been supported since 2008 by the Fondation Hippocrène and recently appeared as Musette in Puccini’s La Bohème at the Reims opera house.

Tatiana was delighted to receive her Petite Promesse watch. A 2016 addition to the Promesse collection, this model is equipped with a strap in a light yet intense and eminently modern shade of blue. Étoile dancer Amandine Albisson joined the Paris Opera ballet school in 1999 and won the Prix du Cercle Carpeaux in 2009, followed by the Friends of the Paris Opera Prize in 2013. At the end of that year she was promoted to “Première Danseuse” and a few months later, on March 25th 2014, she was officially named an “étoile” after her performance as Tatiana in Onegin by John Cranko.

ON JULY 26TH, ALAIN ZIMMERMANN HAD THE PLEASURE OF PRESENTING FOUR CLASSIMA WATCHES (MODEL 10214 AND MODEL 10224) TO FOUR ARTISTS:

Xavier de Maistre is a harpist who trained at the Conservatoire de Toulon before perfecting his skills in Paris. In 1998 he won the First Prize and two Performance Prizes at the USA International Harp Competition in Bloomington, Indiana. That same year he became the first French musician to be admitted to the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2001, Xavier de Maistre has been teaching at the Hamburg Academy of Music and regularly gives master classes at the Julliard School in New York, at Toho University, Tokyo, and at Trinity College London.

Xavier de Maistre received the Classima 10214, an ambassador of affordable luxury embodying the nest ambitions. Child prodigy Peter Bence who began his career in Hungary at the age of four. A pianist, composer and producer, he holds the Guinness World Record for the largest number of notes played in one minute, earning him the title of “the world’s fastest pianist”. Since 2011, Peter Bence has been performing in the United States, in Europe and in Japan. Alongside his career as a soloist, he also composes music for movies, advertisements, short films and documentaries, as well as writing songs for pop artists.

Vassilena Serafimova is a percussionist born in Bulgaria into a family of musicians. She rapidly earned a number of distinctions of which only the most prestigious are mentioned here. They include the 2003 Grand Prix at the 10th Music and Earth International Competition as well as First Prize with the percussion ensemble Accent; the SPEDIDAM Prize and Second Prize in the 2006 International Marimba competition in Paris; and Second Prize in the 2007 ARD International Music Competition, Munich. In 2008, she won the First Prize in the World Marimba Competition in Stuttgart, and two years later the First Grand Prix in the Festival Musical d’Automne de Jeunes Interprètes held in the suburbs of Paris. In 2012, she became Artistic Director of the Paris Percussion Group, comprising 12 representatives from the up-and-coming generation of French percussionists.

Vassilena Serafimova was delighted to receive the Classima 10224. An ambassador of Fine Watchmaking, this new Classima model is an authentic trendsetter with its purple alligator strap featuring large square scales, secured to the wrist by a pin buckle. It is a resolutely chic and classy timepiece bearing testimony to the important moments in life thanks to a personal message engraved on the back.

27-year-old Mexican tenor Diego Silva has already made his name on the international scene. He recently performed the title role in Faust at the Paris Opera. Diego Silva has won a number of prizes and distinctions such as the First Prize, Special Prize and Public Prize at the Carlo Morelli Singing Competition in 2007, the Encouragement Award at the Gerda Lissner Foundation International Vocal Competition in 2012 and First Prize in the Giargiari Competition in 2013. That same year, he was also a finalist in Operalia, The World Opera competition founded by Placido Domingo.

ON JULY 29TH, ALAIN ZIMMERMANN HAD THE PLEASURE OF PRESENTING FOUR CLASSIMA WATCHES (THE 10214 AND 10224 MODELS) TO FOUR ARTISTS:

Pianist David Kadouch began studying piano at the regional conservatoire in Nice and was unanimously admitted to the French National Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. He was a nalist of the 2005 Beethoven Bonn Competition and at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2009. Since 2007, he is a laureate of the ADAMI and the Fondation Natexis Banques Populaires.

David Kadouch won the Breakthrough Artist of the Year award at the French 2010 Victoires de la Musique Classique and was named Young Artist of the Year in the 2011 International Classic Music Awards.

Mezzo-soprano Karin Deshayes won the title “Opera Singer of the Year” at the 2011 Victoires de la Musique Classique and is making a name for herself on the international opera scene. Fifteen years after her debut, she regularly performs prestigious roles at the Metropolitan in New York, the Liceu Barcelona, and at the Bastille and Garnier opera houses in Paris. She was named Opera Singer of the Year in the French 2016 Victoires de la Musique Classique.

Nicknamed the “little prince of the cello”, Edgar Moreau was just 15 when he won the Young Soloist prize in the Rostropovitch Cello Competition. At the age of 17, he won Second Prize in the formidable International Tchaikovsky Cello Competition. In 2013, he was named Breakthrough Instrumental Soloist of the Year at the French Victoires de la Musique Classique, and he won the latter competition’s Instrumental Soloist of the Year award in 2015.
