Bonus Video: But Why Is The Seamaster Logo On The Speedmaster?
An age-old question, two iconic watches sharing the same caseback insignia. How did this come to be? Learn more.
As we explored in Part 4 of our “The Origins Of The Omega Seamaster” series, the Seahorse logo is perhaps the most important logo in watchmaking history. Thought the story was over there? Not quite. Today, with the help of Petros Protopapas, Omega’s International Brand Heritage Manager, we get the inside scoop.
The Seamaster Trilogy
Our story begins in 1957, when Omega released the trilogy collection, which consisted of a Seamaster, Railmaster, and Speedmaster. At the time, the Speedmaster was treated as a child of the Seamaster family. That’s right, the “Seamaster Speedmaster” was born.
In 2017, to celebrate 60 years of the trilogy, Omega released a special trilogy set with re-issues of the iconic 1957 models.
