The connection between sports and watches is subtle yet clear. Determination, the will to always do better, to innovate, and to achieve excellence! These are all values shared by athletes and outlined by Perrelet Manufacture when creating its timepieces. Moreover, time measurement is at the root of all sports. Time is inextricably linked to sports!

Perrelet has shared a special moment with some of the famous players of the SC Bern ice hockey team, including Eric Blum, Ryan Lasch and Thomas Rüfenacht, all watches enthusiasts who had the pleasure to try Perrelet’s new model, the LAB. They all enjoyed the design, the various aesthetic details, the accuracy and the comfort offered by the innovative LAB model, and posed for pictures with it on their wrists. The LAB model is the perfect accessory in all situations, whether in formal or more casual wear.

The LAB prototype was presented at Baselworld in March 2016, when Perrelet revealed its new sport-chic collection to complement the existing lines, such as the classic and refined "First Class", the sporty "Turbine" with its various models, and the "Diamond Flower Amytis" for women.

A few months later, Perrelet put the finishing touches on the LAB, with its P-411 Manufacture Calibre, which has exceeded all reliability tests. This model will soon be leaving Perrelet's workshops to be offered in our exclusive boutiques all around the world. Many mechanical watches enthusiasts looking for unique, innovative timepieces offering an impeccable finish, are already looking forward to enjoy this model on their wrists.

THE NEW LAB IN DETAIL:

Perrelet forged the LAB by drawing on the mastery of all the internal watchmaking stages completed in its own manufactures, from the design to the production of the movement components - the escapement, the regulating organ and the balance-spring - not to mention the case, the dial and the finishing work.

With its signature "dial in motion", this timepiece remains true to the values and DNA of the brand.

With its Manufacture Calibre, the LAB combines technical perfection with an exciting and innovative design.

The 42 mm x 42 mm stainless steel case is cushion-shaped with soft, rounded lines and brushed and polished lugs. The casing features a vertical decoration composed of several tiny raised rectangles. The polished octagonal bezel with its satin-brushed profile gives the model a strong personality. The sapphire crystal case-back is assembled with six screws, forming a sturdy and strong case with a water resistance of up to 5 ATM.

Particular attention was given to the architecture of the dial boasting an original construction. A three-dimensional effect is achieved by the various finishes arranged on the multi-level dial, available in three versions (silver, anthracite and black), featuring a central part adorned with vertical lines, while the rim is circular-brushed. The cut-out hour-makers are enhanced with white SuperLuminova, applied on a sapphire crystal ring, giving it the illusion of floating in the air. The unusual choice of this transparent element was specifically designed to allow the LAB watch owner to admire the most distinctive feature of this timepiece: its oscillating weight.

On the LAB watch, when reading the time, watchmaking enthusiasts can observe the movement of the peripheral oscillating weight fitted on ball bearings. This technical innovation was made possible by the new P-411 Calibre, created in the Manufacture. The oscillating weight is fitted on a toothed wheel (whose teeth are on the inside), also known as the “couronne”, located on the outer part of the movement, which is engaged by a pinion placed on the movement outer diameter. The rotor is adorned with a screw-down plate bearing a decoration in oblique lines, which can be admired through the transparent hour ring.

Displaying the hours, minutes and seconds, and the date at 6 o’clock, the LAB has a 42-hour power reserve.

The watch comes with a black alligator leather strap and a stainless steel clasp with the Perrelet logo.
