The Lounge by Watchonista readers will no doubt remember that we dedicated a lot of our summer coverage to watchmaker A. Lange & Söhne’s passion for classic cars via its partnerships with important classic car Concours events in Italy, Germany, the UK, and Newport, Rhode Island.

Still, it was Contributor Cait Bazemore’s up-close and personal photo report from the UK’s Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace that really creates a sense of place and VIP experience. If you weren’t able to be there, believe me, Cait was, in spades.

More than anything else, the intent of The Lounge by Watchonista is to provide a little bit of fun. People in the watch industry tend to pay more attention to personal style than the general public.

That said, Watchonista Editor-at-Large Rhonda Riche’s offbeat roundup of the best manicures she spotted at Watches and Wonders 2025 drew a particularly entertaining line under how involvement in the watch world inspires some fashionable whimsy in the unexpected form of nail art.

Even though Watchonista’s Wine & Spirits Contributor David Zivan is sommelier-certified, his palate isn’t so fussy as to not delight in new discoveries. Particularly championed by foreign watch journalists visiting Switzerland, the accessible, local Swiss white varietal Chasselas packs a lot of appeal into every crisp glass.

It is a hard bottle to find outside the Cantons, but we tasked Zivan with securing a bottle or two in his hometown of Chicago, and now he is a fan as well.
 

No story this year has better exemplified the profound overlap between timepieces and motorsports than watchmaker TAG Heuer’s involvement in the world of F1 racing. And no racing event better underlines that relationship than the legendary F1 Grand Prix in Monaco.

Fortunately, Watchonista’s own Ashken Longet was there, and amid the toney, high-octane happenings, she drew some insightful connections.
