Miami Beach launched the 2016 Longines Global Champions Tour

The 2016 Longines Global Champions Tour started this weekend with its American leg in Miami Beach in the presence of celebrities. In addition of being the Title Partner and the Official Timkeeper of the whole series, Longines is proud to have presented the highlight of this first stage, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Miami Beach, won by Edwina Tops-Alexander on Lintea Tequila. From Florida to Doha, going through Shanghai and Paris, the Longines Global Champions Tour includes 15 legs in 15 cities and gathers the world’s best riders.

Miami Beach hosted this weekend the first leg of the 2016 Longines Global Champions Tour. Longines is glad to be the Title Partner and the Official Timekeeper of all the series. The Swiss watch brand also presented the highlight of the event, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Miami Beach, which saw the victory of Edwina Tops-Alexander on Lintea Tequila. The Australian rider was presented with an elegant Longines watch by Charles Villoz, Vice President of Longines.

The North-American leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour welcomed several celebrities. Jennifer Gates, Eve Jobs, Georgina Bloomberg, Hannah Selleck and Paris Sellon, the daughter of James Burrow, sitcom’s producer, have been competing in the event. Other famous people, such as Ariana Rockefeller from the influential New York Rockefeller family, were also in the public.

The Longines Global Champions Tour of Miami Beach offered a great opportunity to discover the Official Watch of the event, a model of the Longines DolceVita collection, which represents contemporary elegance of the brand worldwide. This lady model in steel decorated with diamonds features a silver-coloured “flinqué” dial adorned with painted Roman numerals.

The 2016 Longines Global Champions Tour gathers the world’s best riders and includes 15 legs in 15 cities, such as Shanghai, Paris or Roma. This year, the series, which will end in Doha in November, will extend to Latin America for the first time, with a stage in Mexico mid-April. Last year, the Longines Global Champions Tour was won by the Portuguese rider Luciana Diniz.
