Bohème Collection: Moongarden and Day & Night Timepieces

Two new highly functional complications extend the feminine and elegant collection designed for the contemporary Bohème lady one that displays the name of each month’s full moon name and a unique day & night complication.

With sophisticated and refined design, two new Montblanc timepieces enhance the Bohème Collection. Launched in 2014, the collection, with the Bohème Perpetual Calendar as its centrepiece, enriches the codes of fine watchmaking with elegance and femininity. On her wrist, the independent woman declares her irrepressible Bohème spirit, expressing her passion for fine watchmaking.

The latest additions to the collection echo the distinctive design codes of Bohème: simple lines, an effortlessly elegant case with its refined personality and the slightly curved faceted horns, a dial of the greatest purity, and floral Arabic numerals with their sensuous curves. Mirroring the radiance, self-confidence and independence of the contemporary Bohème lady, the design’s aesthetic elegance is matched by the highly functional attributes of the watch’s complication.

Montblanc Bohème Moongarden

Montblanc anchors its watchmaking competence with the introduction of a romantic and poetic yet highly functional complication, the Montblanc Bohème Moongarden developed at the watch manufacture in Villeret, the Maison’s Movement & Innovation Excellence Centre. This exclusive timepiece is inspired by the romance associated with the moon and the influence it has exerted over every aspect of life for centuries. People have kept track of the movement of the moon to measure the passing time, giving full moons different names to represent the evolution of their lives over the lunar year. Montblanc has taken these names as an inspiration to create a new exclusive complication developed in-house that displays the name of each month’s full moon instead of the traditional name of the month.

In a sophisticated integration of the moonphase, the name is displayed in a crescent shape window in the centre and the moonphases appear in an aperture at “6 o’clock”. The function of this exclusive manufacture complication can easily be adjusted using the individual corrector on the side of the 36 mm red gold case. The name of the current moon must be placed at 12 o’clock in front the little golden moon, linking the name of the moon to the date. Then like on a calendar, when the date reaches 31, the name of the moon changes as it enters its new phase. From Ice Moon to Oak Moon, the name of each of the twelve moon phases are engraved in a circular fashion on the back of the watch to facilitate the setting and the choice of the moons.

The 18K red gold bezel is set with 78 fine Wesselton diamonds, giving the watch absolute radiance. The feminine and sensuous floral Arabic numerals with a prominent “12” are set on a sophisticated silvery-white «guilloché» dial with 90 facets, a refined setting for the 18K red gold-plated hands in leaf shape. The minuterie scale with discrete and precious filet sauté is enhanced with gold plated dots for an added touch of refinement, while the elegant case is embellished with a crown set with a scintillating Montblanc diamond.

Because the modern Bohème lady values her ability to create her own personal look, the timepiece features an interchangeable leather strap mechanism allowing her to easily change the straps., from a black alligator leather, to a refined two colour calf leather strap featuring seasonal colours to evoke the seasons and the changing of the moonphases. With femininity and style, the autumnal colour combination of dark brown and kaki match the red gold version of the watch, while spring is expressed through the leather wristband in grey and pastel blue to match the steel version. As summer colours the two-tone wristbands are available in yellow combined with blue reminding on sun and sea. Winter colours are symbolized by nude and white tones.

The Montblanc Bohème Date Automatic features, a shiny two-colour leather wristband in yellow and orange, or light and dark blue to convey a very sophisticated yet contemporary look. For all Bohème models with 36 mm case the straps are interchangeable to match the outfit of the wearer. To open the strap a simple push mechanism unlocks it to be changed in an easy way.

Montblanc Bohème Day & Night

The Montblanc Bohème Day & Night was conceived as a companion to the Bohème lady combining timeless feminine elegance, functionality, respect for the utmost perfection of fine watchmaking and the highest aesthetic refinement. This new timepiece is defined by its romantic small complication and a characteristic Bohème guilloché dial crafted in the purest fine watchmaking style.

The unique day & night indication allows the wearer to know which part of the day or night it is precisely. The day is indicated through a sophisticated light blue and golden sun, while the night indication is represented in a warm dark blue decorated with a smiling golden moon adorned by stars. The automatic movement with its highly functional complication makes it possible to precisely set the sunrise and the sunset to match the corresponding time. The time can be adjusted to the right part of the day directly turning the crown clockwise and to show the corresponding date, thus avoiding the jump of the day at noon.

The elegant 34 mm stainless steel case - a new size in the Bohème collection designed to perfectly fit a lady’s wrist - features a bezel fully set with 72 top Wesselton diamonds. True to the aesthetic attributes of the Bohème line, the silvery-white guilloché dial features sensual black Arabic numerals, blued leaf-shaped and baton-shaped hands. The unique character of every Bohème timepiece comes from the unexpected details that enrich the codes of fine watchmaking like the sophisticated integration of the elliptical date opening on the dial.

With the Monblanc Bohème Moongarden and the Montblanc Bohème Day & Night, Montblanc finds new ways of expressing femininity, elegance and sophistication in the grand complications of fine watchmaking. From the smallest design detail to the performance of its innovative complications, the collection reflects every Bohème lady’s own uniquely independent style with authenticity and intrinsic elegance.
