Christophe Lemaire At The 38th Edition Of The Japan Cup In Association With Longines

The Tokyo Racecourse hosted the 38th edition of the Japan Cup in association with Longines, of which the Swiss watch brand is the proud Official Partner and Official Timekeeper. The featured and eponymous race was claimed by Almond Eye ridden by French jockey Christophe Lemaire in record-setting time in front of an ecstatic crowd. On this occasion, Longines was delighted to welcome its Ambassador of Elegance Kohei Uchimura, who is recognized by many as the best gymnast of all time. In addition, this international event was the perfect occasion for the brand to highlight a model from the Record collection, a line combining classic elegance and excellence.

Over 100’000 passionate racegoers witnessed the extraordinary victory and record time of Almond Eye ridden by Christophe Lemaire at the 38th edition of the Japan Cup in association with Longines, which was run on Sunday 25 November 2018 at the Tokyo Racecourse. To celebrate their remarkable performance, the winning Japanese horse Almond Eye’s owner, breeder, trainer, jockey and stable staff members were all granted Longines watches from the hands of our Longines Ambassador of Elegance Kohei Uchimura, and the President of Longines, Walter von Känel.
 

On this occasion, the Swiss watch brand celebrated elegance along with sport performances by awarding the Longines Prize for Elegance to the most elegant woman and man at the Tokyo Racecourse. Before heading to this impressive Racecourse, the Longines Ambassador of Elegance and Japanese World Champion gymnast visited the Longines Ginza Boutique, where 30 selected customers had the opportunity to meet him.
 

In addition, the Japan Cup in association with Longines was the perfect occasion for the spectators to discover the Official Watch of the event, a model of the Record collection. Combining classic elegance and excellence, this automatic timepiece houses a chronometer movement with unique properties, certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
