The Swiss watch maker JEANRICHARD has debuted at the Macau Center in Beijing, where a press conference was held to celebrate the brand’s appearance in the market and its revived spirit and Philosophy of Life A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the new JEANRICHARD Macau Center outlet as well as an appreciation activity for the brand-new collection of wristwatches. The famous actor Xia Yu, an intimate friend of JEANRICHARD, and Bruno Grande, COO of JEANRICHARD, joined the media to celebrate the latest wristwatch concepts from Switzerland and witness this significant moment in the development of the JEANRICHARD brand.

JEANRICHARD can trace its history back to the end of the 17th century when its watches were designed by the renowned watchmaker Daniel JeanRichard. In 2012, the brand returned to the stage and displayed a brand-new image through its wristwatch collections.

 
“Our brand has made a glorious return, and it’s my great pleasure to share this turning point with you here and today,” said Bruno Grande, COO of JEANRICHARD. “We have decided to breathe new life into the brand as well as new vigor and new dynamics, while remaining true to the spirit of the founder,” he continued, referencing to Daniel JeanRichard, the legendary figure of the late 17th century, who became known as the “founder of the watchmaking industry in Neuchâtel”. The brand can depend on some impressive support for its future development. The Kering Group (formerly PPR) recently became the majority shareholder of Sowind Group, which owns the brand.

Xia Yu is in the spotlight thanks to his excellent acting and because he is the laureate of the Top Six Movie Kings, namely, the Venice International Film Festival, Singapore International Film Festival, Golden Horse Award, Golden Rooster Award, China Film Society of Performing Art Award, and Beijing Student Film Festival. In his regular life, he is also a skilled skateboarder, snowboarder, and surfer and works diligently and lives happily, embracing new challenges, pursuing perfection, and following his dreams on a daily basis. The cooperation between Xia Yu and JEANRICHARD is based on their mutual values and love of exploration, their outstanding achievements, as well as their love of leisure.

At this press conference, JEANRICHARD brought four collections of the 2013 launched wristwatches from Switzerland. The Terrascope, Aquascope, and Aeroscope models are based on the three primordial elements in nature: earth, water, and air. And the fourth collection, the 1681, is the embodiment of great watchmaking in the purest tradition and is not only rooted in centuries past but equipped with the manufactured JR1000 in-house movement. To this 1681 collection, we have added the fourth element, the fire of passion. All new JEANRICHARD timepieces represent four worlds to conquer where life can be lived to the fullest. Additionally, the Swiss watchmaker revives its aeronautic spirit with a limited edition that creatively plays with all the nuances of black. The model is named Neroscope – a combination of nero (black) and Aeroscope.

The JEANRICHARD collections stimulate infinite inspirations. They evoke travel, independence, free time, and movement. They follow the footsteps imprinted in the sand and the gaze lifted towards the skyscrapers. They have an awareness of a world that is meant to be traveled, appreciated and protected. Xia Yu is a famous actor in mainland China. He was born in Qingdao on October 28, 1976 and graduated from the Central Academy of Drama. His representative works include In the Heat of the Sun, The Law of Romance, and Roots and Branches. In 1994, at the age of 17, he became the Movie King of the International Level-A Film Festival. Now he is the laureate of Top Six Movie Kings, namely, Venice International Film Festival, Singapore International Film Festival, Golden Horse Award, Golden Rooster Award, China Film Society of Performing Art Award and Beijing Student Film Festival.

Xia Yu is also a skilled skateboarder, snowboarder, and surfer. At the 2006 Switzerland Titlis skateboard competition he was awarded the honor of champion in the amateur group.
