Jaeger-LeCoultre partners the Magritte Awards
Building on its unique ties with the world of the 7th Art, Jaeger-LeCoultre is proud to be associating with the Académie André Delvaux and the Magritte Awards which annually celebrate the amazing richness of belgian cinema.
The 4th Ceremony of The Magritte Awards took place in Brussels on Saturday February the 1st. During this exceptional evening, 20 awards were presented to the most emblematic talents from the past year.
Keenly aware of the importance of these distinctions in acting careers, Jaeger-LeCoultre is delighted to present the Best Actor and Best Actress with a Reverso watch personalised in the Magritte Awards colours.
This year, Benoit Poelvoorde won the price of Best Actor for his performance in A place on earth and the Pauline Etienne received the Best Actress award for her role played in The Nun. The Honorary Magritte Award celebrated the Director Emir Kusturica for its exceptional contribution to the world of cinema. As a souvenir of this unique moment, he received a personalised Atmos clock.
Jaeger-LeCoultre and the Académie André Delvaux are passionately committed to supporting and promoting film culture. A yearly “Talent Dinner” will bring together Belgian film talents in order to create and encourage new synergies. Promised to a bright future, each edition of this new collaboration will be presided over by a personality who will bring his or her particular support and experience.
True to its values and this desire to support film-making around the world, Jaeger-LeCoultre is thus now turning its attention to Belgium, which holds a very special place within the francophone film industry. Demonstrating impressive production diversity and exceptional creativity extending well beyond national borders, industry professionals have developed immense know-how in international co-productions, as well as animated movies, documentaries and short films. This new partnership continues the tradition cultivated by the Grande Maison through ties with the most important film events, from Venice to New York, Abu Dhabi, Shanghai and San Sebastian.
Movie sets and watchmaking workshops share a common denominator: both are pervaded by the same atmosphere of intense concentration. These are places where dreams come true, where fascinating creations requiring precise and meticulous attention to detail as well as enormous passion are born. History is written, from cameras capturing emotions to the artisan who immortalises the present moment in time. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s affinities with the 7th art undoubtedly stem from the fact that film and watchmaking are both universes marked by the same creative effervescence backed by a longstanding tradition.
