Lang Lang becomes a Hublot ambassador

Lang Lang. The superstar Chinese pianist. Ultra-talented. An international phenomenon. 32 years old. A demi-god in China, adored in the USA. Acclaimed by audiences throughout the world. Each of his shows is a real event.

Lang Lang embodies youth, talent, intelligence and success. Back in 2006, he played at the opening ceremony of the Football World Cup, the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and the Shanghai World Expo 2010. In 2009, he first appeared in the edition of Time100 listing the hundred most influential people in the world.

Two years earlier, he had created the Lang Lang Music Foundation to help gifted young pianists in several countries around the world. In 2012, he established an arts complex in China where students can attend masterclasses delivered by renowned tutors. An artist of great generosity, he has worked with UNICEF and as a Messenger of Peace for the United Nations since 2013. His first name - Lǎng - means sunlight, while his surname - Láng - means man of culture.

Today, in his native city of Shenyang in China, Lang Lang has announced that he will be joining Hublot and the family of prestigious ambassadors who represent the Swiss watch brand.

That's because he loves beautiful watches. It's also because he and the Swiss watch brand are very similar. Hublot honours tradition, linking it with the future, and has made the Art of Fusion the essence of its DNA, in terms of creating its watches and in its innovation, its quest for new materials and its reinterpretation of grand complications, of the Arts and Crafts and more besides.

Pioneering spirit, uniqueness and difference come naturally to both Lang Lang and Hublot, and have been the cornerstones of the brand's ethos since Jean-Claude Biver, President of the LVMH Group's Watch Division, and CEO Ricardo Guadalupe took over the company 10 years ago to make it one of the most successful brands in the Swiss watchmaking industry.
