Harry Winston Unveils Elegant New Dials For The Ocean Biretrograde

In inimitable Harry Winston style, the Ocean Biretrograde deftly blends elegant design with top-quality mechanics – expressly for Ladies. Nearly one decade after the launch of its Ocean Collection™, and seven years since the release of the first Ocean Biretrograde, Harry Winston now unveils stunning new dials for this collection.

The new renditions reinterpret the aesthetic codes of the haute horlogerie Ocean Biretrograde, bringing a unique and beguiling appeal to the timepiece with new dial colors and a scintillating three-dimensional design.

The three new dial colors underscore the femininity of the timepiece: creamy sanded white, dark slated gray, and warm, rich chestnut. Each alluring dial is meticulously created with a graduated sunray diamond-point finish encircling the hours and minutes subdial and graduating into larger diamond points as they fan away and spread out across the dial. Each of the three subdials (hour and minute, day, seconds) is impeccably finished with a circular snail pattern that beautifully complements the diamond points. This elaborate blend of diamond-point and circular snailing imbues the dial with texture and depth that is both incredibly sophisticated and worthy of the highly technical timepiece.

A true expression of grace, the Ocean Biretrogade is designed for the confident woman who appreciates perfection. This collection offers women the precision of a complicated mechanical movement with double retrograde functions that literally seem to bring the dial to life with each flyback of the day and seconds hands. This constantly in-motion dial brings drama and intrigue to the forefront. A date aperture, with magnifier, at 6 o’clock, and three diamond indexes marking the hours also accent the dial.

The 36mm Ocean Biretrograde, a sublime union of haute joaillerie and haute horlogerie, is powered by the HW1029 mechanical movement. This movement consists of 256 components that work harmoniously together to offer hours, minutes, date indication and the much-coveted retrograde seconds and day indications. Thanks to an annular balance wheel and flat balance spring, the timepiece offers 42 hours of power reserve. It is deftly finished with a gold skeletonized rotor, Cotes de Genève, circular graining and chamfered bridges – all visible through a sapphire crystal case back.

In total, 16 different versions of the new Ocean Biretrograde emerge, with choices ranging from strap to bracelet, and from unset to partially and fully set. Demonstrating Harry Winston’s renowned talent in the worlds of high jewelry and fine watchmaking, each timepiece is elegantly appointed with signature details. Each case features the iconic Harry Winston three arches at 3 o’clock, subtly embracing the crown, and each is set with 57 brilliant-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.15 carats.

Created in 18-karat white or rose gold, the timepiece’s different diamond versions are designed to satisfy the varying tastes of discerning women. Partially-set bracelet models are adorned with 120 brilliant-cut diamonds (approximately 1.95 carats), while the fully set bracelet features 372 brilliant-cut diamonds (approximately 5.45 carats) for breathtaking shimmer. Every buckle is set with 33 brilliant-cut diamonds. Further underscoring Harry Winston’s dedication to offering both elegant form and superb function, the sporty yet sophisticated Ocean Biretrograde timepieces are water resistant to 100 meters.
