BAUME & MERCIER CELEBRATED CINEMA AS MAIN PARTNER OF THE “TAORMINAFILMFEST”

Baume & Mercier was the main partner of the 62nd “TaorminaFilmFest”, which took place from 11 to 18 June in the magical setting of the Greek Theatre in Taormina, Italy. Richard Gere was the Honorary president.

Moments full of emotion are a key component of cinema and embody Baume & Mercier’s philosophy, “Life is About Moments”. These shared moments of passion illustrate the magni cent partnership between Baume & Mercier and the “TaorminaFilmFest”.

The swiss watchmaking brand organized the closing Gala Dinner at La Plage Resort in Taormina, an elegant ve-stars hotel, in front of the sea and Isola Bella island. The guests, many from cinema, press and watchmaking universe, attended this unique night under the full moon of the Sicilian sky.

Cinema reinvents the world. This magical festival, situated in Taormina’s Greek Theatre under the starry Sicilian sky, has provided a host of emotional moments and times of joy. Baume & Mercier, the ultimate brand of celebration,has been delighted to be the main partner of the “TaorminaFilmFest”. Given its considerable history and beauty, Taormina always provides the perfect setting for the Festival to share unforgettable moments with the greatest international lm stars.

Creation, innovation and passion are at the heart of Baume & Mercier’s identity. This year, the Geneva-based watch brand decided to pay tribute to the “TaorminaFilmFest” with a limited-edition Clifton timepiece, which has been presented to the winner of the “Clifton Taormina Award”.

This model has been designed to celebrate the art of lm – the 39 mm 18K red gold case is enhanced by the sapphire case back adorned with the festival’s logo, while the design of its minuterie track is reminiscent of a lm reel. It has been produced in a series of 62 pieces to celebrate the 62nd edition of the Festival and is available from June 2016, exclusively in Italy.

Baume & Mercier presented an award to many international gures: Harvey Keitel, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, Kathrin Hahn, Miguel Bosè, Noemi, Violante Placido, Ambra Angiolini, Claudio Santamaria and Alessandro Preziosi. Actors received the “Clifton Taormina Award” watch, our classical round range, while the actresses received the “Promesse Taormina Award” from the Promesse collection, our last feminine launch. And for the younger feminine talents Baume & Mercier presented in exclusivity the noveltie 2016 Petite Promesse.

The first “Clifton Taormina Award” limited edition watch was presented by Baume & Mercier CEO Alain Zimmermann to Richard Gere, during the dinner for the “Time Out of Mind” movie premiere at the American Embassy in Rome on 8 June. The watch has been sold by a secret buyer in Taormina on 11 June, during the opening night of the Festival. The proceeds went to the FIO.Psd Foundation on behalf of the “Housing First” project and the #HomelessZero campaign.
