Streetstyle from Pitti Uomo, Firenze
This June, buyers and press from all over the world gathered to Florence to discover what the fashion industry has imagined for Spring-Summer 2016.
For those who are fond of menswear, Pitti Uomo is like Barcelona and Real Madrid for those who like football. Pitti is also the occasion in which the so called “Pitti Boys” or “Pitti Peacocks” play with clothing and make Fortezza da Basso (the heart of the event) the place to be to spot streetstyle trends. Dandies, gentlemen, posers and influencers show their best, creating a unique experience in which good taste and any sorts of experiment can be seen.
The main trends we’ve seen this season were all about colors. Some fashion houses proposed trips to faraway lands (India and Africa on top), through sophisticated colors and incredibly rich fabrics. One other trend was a new minimalistic sportswear, focused on simple graphics and plain colors.
Accessories always play a pivotal role, in particular small leather goods and watches. We’ve observed a lot of precious watches, but also sophisticated cheap ones, many times perfectly matching the colors of the garments or the materials of other accessories. Very often watches are not alone on the wrists, but are accompanied by bracelets made of plastic beads, wooden pearls, or simple colorful yarns.
Watches are still protagonists in these outfits and they are in good company, always an essential element to the men’s wardrobes of the next spring-summer.
