Watches and characters from Milan Fashion Week

What are the most emblematic characters? Like every year, the Milan Fashion Week is an opportunity to spot the emerging trends from the catwalks.

By Paolo Ferrarini

Milan Fashion Week is also an opportunity to look ahead and to discover the choices of the people of fashion, bloggers, influencers, journalists and buyers taking part to the hundreds of events that animate the city. Also in this edition, dedicated to Spring Summer 2016, we had fun following them and taking pictures of watches and accessories, imagining the fashion of the coming months on the wrist of people from around the world.

The Accessorialist

Despite the ups and downs of the fashion industry, accessories continue to be a laboratory for trends as well as the foundation of successful business. The watch is still king of the accessories, but the people of the “fashion circus” love to accompany them with bags of all sizes and materials. In particular, we observed the prevalence of small leather goods, extremely precious and well crafted, both for men and women. The Accessorialist is the protagonists of this phenomenon, thanks to a real passion for collecting bags and covers of all kinds, perfect for living the urban frenzy with impeccable style.

The Colorist

Color is the real protagonist of summer, now more than ever. Brightly colored watches, straps playing with the tones of outfits, surreal and playful covers are the essential ingredients to the look of the Colorists of today and tomorrow. Fun is the key word, irony is the keystone, smile is the result. The most vibrant colors come even to luxury items, which are often accompanied by plastic objects that seem to come from a toy store.

The Elitist

Fashion has always been synonymous with distinction and exclusivity. Being the first is as important as having unique items, rare and often expensive. The essence of true luxury is also observed in the audience of the fashion week in Milan, where we saw many Elitists wear the Apple Watch weeks before its arrival in many countries, but also rare millionaire watches, the dream of all true lovers of “haute horlogerie”.

The Purist

For many, essentiality is everything. Beyond the concept of anonymous minimalism, today the fashion world likes to focus on pure clothes, elegant and classic garments, essential contexts in which the hidden detail is the key. Hence items based on sophisticated yet understated lines, exclusive materials, brands for connoisseurs, alongside accessories without logo but with a strong identity. The perfect match for the Purist are the great classics for the wrist, those watches that will never go out of fashion and demonstrate that the owners are real lovers of beauty.
