A New OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M Model Levels Up the Metal

It’s been just a few weeks since the mixed metal Seamaster Diver 300M debuted, and already a stylish, sophisticated new edition in titanium and bronze gold has added some metallic pizzazz to the 007-inspired series. And Watchonista has exclusive shots!

Since OMEGA introduced the new Seamaster Diver 300M Series at the end of last month with a core selection of two updated stainless steel and aluminum variants inspired by 2021’s Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition, these mixed-metal models have been a big hit, be they on a beaded steel bracelet or technical rubber strap.

However, we would be remiss if we did not mention that the release was preceded by a teaser appearance by brand ambassador Daniel Craig at the Summer Olympics sporting an unreleased steel OMEGA dive watch. This sneak peek led to much industry speculation of what was to come.

The final result, of course, speaks for itself.

The Shape of Things to Come?

This latest execution of the Seamaster Diver – the Seamaster Diver 300M Titanium Bronze Gold – is not exactly a case of “one good tease deserves another.”

However, the actor was also recently spotted at the Governors Awards in Los Angeles with yet another unreleased OMEGA watch, speculated to have a brown/burgundy bezel and made using OMEGA’s propriety alloy, Sedna Gold (or maybe this new Bronze Gold alloy we will be discussing today).

So, while this latest unidentified Seamaster (to be honest, we aren’t even 100% sure it is a Seamaster) may be a future release for the brand, these teasers could indicate that the watchmaker has plans for a nice, long, varied roll-out of one its most recognizable and classic models.

In The Metal

On balance, the already released steel and aluminum Seamaster Diver 300M models from November moved away from the 007 Edition’s decidedly vintage design queues and embraced a more dashing aesthetic.

However, this new version, rendered in Grade 2 titanium and OMEGA’s signature Bronze Gold alloy with an impossibly dark green aluminum dial, carries more authentic Bond-worthy sophistication.

And really, at this stage of the game, why would a brand not produce a titanium version of a serious dive watch?

The metal’s legendary anti-corrosive properties, extreme condition resistance, and (especially) its light weight will find a perfect application under the waves. Furthermore, advanced brushing and finishing techniques bring out another appealing aspect in the often matte metal that is different from, but no less appealing than, traditional gleaming stainless steel.

This new Seamaster’s 42mm case and slinky beaded bracelet are rendered in expertly brushed Grade 2 titanium. So, despite its gold elements, the Seamaster Diver 300M Titanium Bronze Gold weighs in at only about 100 grams, bracelet and all.

Gold Rush

Acting as a luxurious counterpoint to the technicality of the titanium, OMEGA’s exclusive Bronze Gold alloy (technically called bronze-AU375 gold) is used for the bezel, crown, helium-escape valve, and PVD bronze gold coating on the hands.

Amazingly, this Bronze Gold alloy, which presents with an eye-catching soft bronzy-pink hue, was designed to develop a natural patina over time (like bronze) without turning green. The metal is a very nice addition that just works so well, especially in this watch’s detailing.

Finally, a third, less show-stopping metal, aluminum, plays a co-starring role on the dark green dial, which features blackened lume-filled indexes and a lumed diving scale bezel ring.

Diver Down

Apart from the metallurgical glow-up, the new OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M Titanium & Bronze Gold timepiece comes packed with all the pro-grade legitimacy and specs of the core steel Seamaster Diver 300Ms, including the rock-solid METAS-certified 55-hour-power reserve Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806 movement (which is visible through the caseback).

And, yes, the choice of a beaded titanium bracelet or a green rubber strap is offered.
