Rolex Daytona Platinum 116506: The Anniversary Chronograph

Episode 7 - This year, all watch enthusiasts were waiting for the presentation of a commemorative timepiece. For nearly half a century, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona has continued to evolve to today become a reference in specialist timekeepers used for sports.

To celebrate its rich history, the crown manufacture chose to present a version this year complete with a platinum case.

The Rolex Daytona Platinum reference 116506

Never before has this noble, precious, inalterable metal been used by Rolex for this model. Especially for the occasion, the new version has an ice blue dial exclusive to the Rolex watches in this metal. It also sports a chestnut brown monobloc bezel in Cerachrom (echoed in the counters), a Rolex innovation with outstanding powers of resistance and unparalleled aesthetics. More of an urban, albeit luxe, version, this superlative product has opened a new chapter in the history of the legendary timepiece.

The story has only just begun and is being written daily on the wrists of all those keen to tell the hour of day with a world-famous timekeeping instrument.
