The Future Looks Bright with NOMOS Glashütte’s Two New Club Campus Models

The Glashütte-based manufacture updates its entry-level classic with bold pink and blue-purple options.

Introduced in 2017, the Club Campus from NOMOS Glashütte has always been about marking important milestones. Specifically, the Club Campus has been a popular gift for college grads as it not only celebrates the completion of one achievement, but it is an object that announces one is ready to take on the world!

We’ve been out of the classroom for a while, yet we still admire the clean shape and spare styling of the Club Campus collection. And seeing as we’ve all just recently graduated from the school of hard knocks, who’s to say you can’t buy yourself a watch to celebrate your recent degree?

Breaking the Law

Before we break down the new models, first a fun fact: “Nomos” is Greek for “law.” And as a member of the Deutscher Werkbund, an association of German artists, architects, and designers that birthed the Bauhaus movement, the brand has always abided by a minimalist aesthetic.

But the super-bright hues of the 2022 Club Campus prove that NOMOS Glashütte can also color outside the lines.

Released at the end of March, these outstanding additions to the Club Campus collection are being offered in “Deep Pink” and “Blue Purple” options. And while pastel and jewel-toned painted dials have been something of a fad the last two years, these new Club Campus editions pivot the trend in a lesser-seen direction by imbuing the classic timepiece with super bright tones.

As with the previous iterations of the Club Campus, the dial features a mix of Roman and Arabic numerals to tell the time, but the color makes these markers pop in an unexpected way, lending it a vibe that works as well with the typical NYC all-black wardrobe or the laid-back boho-chic maxi dress beloved in California.

Best Coast

Originally, the Club Campus was conceived by NOMOS as a way to connect with younger enthusiasts. And one way it does that (and one of the reasons we love it) is its price point. The Club Campus is under $2,000, making it one of the best value propositions in luxury watchmaking. Plus, because it’s meant to appeal to younger consumers, the Club Campus line frees NOMOS’ designers to experiment with bolder colorways in the first place.

Made of stainless steel and water-resistant up to 100 meters, Club Campus models are sporty and hard-wearing. Moreover, these new time-only models are precise, powered by the in-house, manually wound Alpha calibre that is chronometer-certified. But what makes the line extra endearing is that the steel caseback of all of the Club Campus models can be engraved with a personalized message for the wearer – another reason this collection is so popular as a gift.

Aimed at a younger clientele, the new Club Campus Deep Pink and Club Campus Blue Purple are available in a stainless steel case with either a diameter of 36mm or a much more androgynous 38.5mm.

The Club Campus is available now and is priced at $1,500 for the 36mm and $1,650 for the 38.5mm. For more information, please visit the NOMOS Glashütte website.
