In Case You Missed It: Meet The New NOMOS x Cool Hunting Club Campus 38 For Pride

As we discovered during Geneva Watch Days (HERE) and the recently released Rolex novelties (read HERE), colorful timepieces are all the rage.

With the eye-catching dials of its Tetra collection, NOMOS Glashütte has been ahead of this colorful trend for years. And not to be outdone, the folks at Cool Hunting have been tastemakers since the publication launched back in 2003. So it is only natural the taste-making teams would pair up to launch a special edition timepiece back in August.

Even cooler is the fact that the new rainbow-hued NOMOS x Cool Hunting Club Campus 38 comes with a $1,000 donation (with a guaranteed minimum donation of $10,000) to The Trevor Project, the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youth.

Fly Your Flag

Cool Hunting is an award-winning independent publication that is dedicated to exploring the latest intersections of design, culture, and technology.

According to the Cool Hunting team, “We’ve been fans of NOMOS since 2014 when we fell in love with their Tetra Nachtijall and True Blue Zurich Worldtimer models.”

“As an editorial team composed of members of the queer community and staunch allies, we desired to honor LGBTQ+ people through this collaboration,” said Cool Hunting. “NOMOS excels at the use of color in unmatched ways, and through them, the rainbow became our design playground.”

Color Theory

The Club Campus is NOMOS Glashütte’s most youthful and spirited collection, so it makes sense that both brands would want to play around with its look. Plus, the NOMOS Club Campus collections are accessibly priced and inclusive to nearly all collectors: All six dial versions feature a signature California dial with Roman and Arabic numerals. The Rhodium-plated hands feature a Super-LumiNova inlay for easy viewing in low light, and the light gray textile strap is waterproof.

The model names and dial colors used in the Club Campus 38 for Pride series also reflect the symbolism of the rainbow pride flag: Life (red), Sunlight (yellow), Serenity (blue), Healing (orange), Nature (green), and Spirit (violet). This spectrum represents something more than a fashion statement, they make every day an occasion to be proud.

Built To Last

The Club Campus made its debut in 2016 and was aimed at recent grads looking for their first high-end watch. But its youthful energy makes it appealing to any demographic looking for a great everyday timepiece.

As with all NOMOS watches, the Club Campus 38 for Pride is made in Glashütte, Germany, from premium components. The minimalist elegance of the stainless steel case and the domed sapphire glass crystal have a Bauhaus-inspired aesthetic, which makes it appropriate to wear in almost any situation. Inside, the brand’s manual-winding, in-house-produced Alpha caliber (the brand’s first-ever in-house movement) powers the watch.

To make it even more meaningful, the closed case back allows for a personalized engraving (another hallmark of the Club Campus collection) along with the Cool Hunting logo and the number of the limited edition model you own.

These six new versions are available now but are limited to 22 pieces each. They are priced at $1,650 each. You can learn more at NOMOS Glashütte's website.
