Longines’ 2026 Master Collection is a Master Class in Elegance

Since 2005, these timepieces in Longines’ Master collection have represented the pinnacle of the watchmaking art for the esteemed Swiss maison. Today, with a completely redesigned line-up – for men and women – and sporting new case sizes, “mastering” your wrist game has never been so appealing.

You have to admit that it might have posed something of a challenge for Longines designers to conduct a thorough redux of one of its most iconic collections and still, despite every dial, hand, case, and materials revision, write a new chapter for the classically styled, timelessly appropriate Master collection without abandoning the look the collection is known for.

Furthermore, the three new core designs are each available in 30, 34, 39, and 41mm case sizes, proving that an inspired, traditional design can be perfectly gender-neutral and broadly relevant. In fact, with some of the Master collection’s new case size options now smaller than ever, reflecting shrinking trends in today’s watch market, Longines’ take on contemporary elegance becomes even more visually flexible and impressive.

Let’s take a look!

Shared Values

While the execution across the line is defined by a classic three-handed approach with a 3 o’clock date window, the designers have taken inventive, small steps to create diversity within a collection that, when laid side by side, looks and feels like a “family.”

Movement diversity was also mandated by case size, with the 30mm models using the L592.5 automatic caliber (45-hour power reserve) and the 34, 39, and 41mm executions using the L888.5 automatic caliber (72-hour power reserve). Please note that, despite their different power reserves, both movements are equipped with modern silicon balance springs to enhance precision.

Moreover, all the new Master collection timepieces feature exhibition casebacks and are offered on both a new stainless steel bracelet with newly shortened links or on lovely, collection-wide, complementary alligator leather straps in blue, Bordeaux red, and anthracite.

One Canvas, Many Paints

The stainless-steel executions featuring jeweled indices with 11 Top Wesselton diamonds and mother-of-pearl dials might be the most sophisticated additions in this year’s update. In fact, two particularly elevated versions of this execution, which feature either a 2N yellow- or 5N red-gold bezel and crown, just beg to be worn to a soirée, especially when paired with a vivid red leather strap.

Meanwhile, the plain steel-case-on-steel-bracelet version, with the same mother-of-pearl and diamond recipe as the bi-metal version, defines a more masculine version of nightlife appeal.

Blued steel hands and rich blue applied Arabic indices in a vintage-inspired font hallmark the next design option.

Here, a silver barleycorn dial pattern adds some light-catching magic to this deliberate classicism, extending across the whole dial surface in the 30 and 34mm models, while the larger 39 and 41mm dials are circularly framed by silver on the outer dial. On steel or on leather, this approach carries a bit more of a metallic vintage zeitgeist than its siblings.

Finally, the third new core design option casts hands and indices in gleaming rhodium over a deep blue barleycorn dial pattern.

In this execution, which is available only in the 39 and 41mm case sizes, we see a decidedly double-agent nature: strong and sporty on a steel bracelet, colorfully sophisticated on an alligator strap (especially the blue one).
