Omega Brings the 007 “First Light” Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph to Life
A game-born chronograph becomes a real Swiss tool watch, merging James Bond storytelling, advanced Co-Axial Master Chronometer engineering, and cinematic design from IO Interactive’s upcoming 007 First Light universe.
The Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph “007 First Light” marks the rare convergence of interactive entertainment and Swiss watchmaking, where a fictional object is transformed into a fully realized mechanical timepiece.
Developed by Omega in collaboration with IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios, the watch comes to us directly from the narrative universe of the upcoming video game 007 First Light. In the game, it functions as a multifunctional espionage instrument worn by a young James Bond during his early MI6 missions.
Now brought into the real world, the watch joins Omega’s official Seamaster collection, translating its in-game identity into a fully engineered chronograph that stands as a bridge between cinematic heritage, mechanical precision, and interactive storytelling.
A Watch Born Inside a Game World
The upcoming 007 First Light video game reimagines the early career of James Bond, following a 26-year-old recruit as he completes his first MI6 assignments. Developed as a third-person action-adventure title, it emphasizes stealth, improvisation, and player-driven choices across a global espionage narrative.
Within this world, Omega’s Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph appears as a mission-critical device. Beyond its function as a watch, it integrates gameplay systems such as hacking capabilities and a laser-equipped strap, allowing players to interact dynamically with the environment and progress through missions.
With the physical release of the timepiece, Omega brings this digital concept to life, incorporating the design (but sadly none of the gadgets) into its official James Bond Seamaster lineup.
The First Chronograph in the Bond Seamaster Diver 300M Line
This release represents a milestone for the franchise as the first chronograph ever introduced in the James Bond Seamaster Diver 300M line.
The watch is built around a 44mm stainless steel case, offering a bold yet functional presence on the wrist. A polished black ceramic bezel with a white enamel diving scale is paired with matching ceramic pushers, reinforcing its technical and contemporary character.
The dial is crafted in black ceramic and features laser-engraved wave patterns, a signature of the Diver 300M series. At 3 o’clock, a sub-dial ring finished in PVD bronze gold introduces a warm contrast, echoed by the central chronograph seconds hand in the same tone. Rhodium-plated hands and indices filled with white Super-LumiNova ensure optimal legibility in low-light conditions.
Finally, a red “Seamaster” inscription and a date window at 6 o’clock complete the composition, balancing tool-watch clarity with cinematic detail.
Powered by the Master Chronometer Calibre 9900
Inside the watch operates the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9900, a self-winding chronograph movement engineered for precision, durability, and magnetic resistance.
It features a small-seconds display at 9 o’clock and a 60-minute and 12-hour chronograph recorder at 3 o’clock. Through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement’s architecture is visible alongside a black metalized “007 First Light” emblem integrated into the glass.
This fusion of mechanical transparency and narrative design reinforces the watch’s dual identity as both instrument and storytelling object.
NATO Strap System Inspired by the Game
The watch debuts an exclusive NATO strap inspired by the visual identity of 007 First Light. It features a black, grey, and beige striped pattern, echoing the tonal palette associated with Bond’s cinematic wardrobe in No Time to Die, while introducing a configuration unique to this release.
The strap is finished with a Seamaster buckle and engraved keepers marked “007” and “First Light.” Collectors can also choose from six additional NATO strap variations inspired by alternate in-game loadouts, available separately through Omega’s accessories range.
New Gaming-Watchmaking Collaboration
Rather than use a traditional watch box, each Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph “007 First Light” is delivered in a specially designed presentation box inspired by the suitcase used in the game to transport Omega equipment.
This transforms the packaging into an extension of the narrative, extending the immersive experience beyond gameplay and onto the wrist and turning this new watch into a storytelling object that connects the wearer to the fictional world of 007 First Light.
The project also reflects a broader shift in luxury collaboration. Instead of adapting an existing watch into a fictional role, Omega and IO Interactive co-developed a concept that originated inside the game before being brought into physical production. This “reverse pipeline” approach – where digital gameplay mechanics influence real-world horology – signals a new model of creative exchange between gaming and design.
