The Patek Philippe Split-Seconds Chronograph Ref. 5370R

Once again, Patek Philippe has captured the watch world’s attention with the stunning release of the Split-Seconds Chronograph Ref. 5370R in rose gold.

Previously only available in platinum, this elegant new edition marks a first for the brand, bringing a warm, luxurious glow to one of the brand’s most complex timepieces. The 41mm case frames a Grand Feu brown and beige enamel dial that features applied Breguet numerals that perfectly complement the rich rose gold. This striking contrast effortlessly blends tradition and modern sophistication.

At the heart of the Ref. 5370R lies the highly intricate CHR 29-535 PS calibre, a manual-wound movement boasting 312 components, including a column wheel and horizontal clutch. What truly sets this chronograph apart is its split-seconds (rattrapante) complication, allowing wearers to measure two simultaneous time intervals with unmatched precision. In all, this movement includes seven patented innovations, highlighting Patek Philippe’s commitment to horological excellence and mechanical artistry.

For collectors and enthusiasts craving both beauty and technical prowess, the Ref. 5370R stands out as the only stand-alone split-seconds chronograph in Patek Philippe’s current lineup. Priced at $288,700, it promises not just a watch, but a legacy on the wrist.

Grand Seiko’s Duo of Tentagraph

Turning heads with not one but two sensational new Tentagraphs at Watches and Wonders 2025, at the core of both of these Grand Seiko chronographs is the remarkable Caliber 9SC5 Tentagraph movement – a marvel of mechanical precision beating 10 times per second and backed by a rigorous 20-day testing process to ensure stellar accuracy. Moreover, with an impressive three-day power reserve thanks to a dual barrel system, these watches aren’t just chronographs; they’re technical masterpieces built to perform.

The Tokyo Lion Tentagraph SLGC009 roars with boldness, showcasing a 43mm case forged from Grand Seiko’s proprietary Brilliant Hard Titanium. Its angular design, tawny mane-inspired dial, and claw-shaped luminous indices give it an aggressive, sporty vibe that stands apart in the world of luxury chronographs. Even the color-matched rubber strap gets a wild touch, mimicking the paw pads of a lion for ultimate comfort and style.

In contrast, the Evolution 9 Tentagraph SLGC007 draws inspiration from Japan’s serene Mt. Iwate. Featuring a cool icy blue dial accented with deep black sub-dials and a tachymetric bezel, this 43.2mm titanium chronograph exudes refined elegance with a classic sports watch silhouette. Both watches share the same high-performance specs but express Grand Seiko’s deep respect for nature in uniquely powerful ways.

The Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite

The legendary Omega Speedmaster has just taken a giant leap forward with the Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite released in February 2025, which boasts a more refined 43mm case that’s slimmer and sportier than ever before.

However, this isn’t just a size upgrade; the dial steals the show, crafted from genuine iron meteorite and offering two stunning variations: a sleek black PVD-coated version and a striking blue-toned model with matching ceramic bezels. These cosmic details pay homage to the watch’s celestial heritage while adding a fresh, modern twist.

Yet the true highlight is the never-before-seen moonphase complication at 6 o’clock, featuring twin cabochon Moons made from authentic lunar meteorite that rotate to show phases from both the northern and southern hemispheres. Surrounding this stellar display, tiny stars are precisely positioned to replicate the night sky over Apollo 11’s historic lunar landing, seen from Omega’s home in Switzerland. It’s a poetic fusion of history, art, and cutting-edge watchmaking.

Beneath this cosmic dial beats the all-new manual winding Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9914, with a chronograph function, moonphase indication, and a robust 60-hour power reserve. Starting at $17,100, the Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite is available now and ready to elevate any collection – whether you’re a space enthusiast or a style connoisseur.
