Let’s first start with the horological calendar. Most of us patiently wait for SIHH, Baselworld, Geneva Auctions, and some more or less exotic international watch fairs in order to see a lot of watches…
But if you are passionate about vintage, especially Rolex, there is one extraordinary meeting that will keep you away from sleeping for many days…
The Vintage Rolex Passion Meeting
The first time you attend you go thru an adaptation phase… Your eyes and brain can’t process the amount of rarities / famous references / never seen prototypes. Technically, the first couple of hours you have the memory of a goldfish and you can process only 5-6 references at the time forgetting the ones you have seen before… (Believe me on this one!!!)
Then you start to understand the concept of the meeting. The name says it all: PASSION.
A couple of beers and you get to know people around you. You are not sure but yes, they all have the same compulsive passion! Tables are getting more and more full with travel cases. Everybody is freely and trustworthily passing around his treasures. So many rare watches, so many stories about them.
2013 was the 3rd participation for me and I was thrilled to see some friends again and to meet new people (probably attending for the first time and going thru theVRPM adaptation phase).
I would like to thank Philipp, Bernhard and the rest of the gang (the locals specially ;-) for having organised another incredible time.
Hope you will enjoy this album… This is not simple watchporn… it’s literally an orgy of Rolex! ;-)
