Longines Times The Qatar Prix De l’Arc De Triomphe Back At ParisLongchamp

The Swiss watch brand Longines was proud to time the much-awaited 97th edition of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, which celebrated its return on the ParisLongchamp racecourse, inaugurated last April.

The brand witnessed the victory of Enable led by 2015 Longines World’s Best Jockey Frankie Dettori in the eponymous race. In addition, Longines lent its name to two other Group 1 races, namely the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp Longines and the Prix de l’Opéra Longines, claimed by Mabs Cross and Wild Illusion respectively. The Official Watch of the event was a chronometer-certified timepiece of the Record collection, displaying a white matt dial with painted roman numerals.

As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, which was back on the new ParisLonghcamp racecourse, the Swiss watch brand Longines had the pleasure to offer its timekeeping expertise to the sixteen races, including nine in Group 1. The eponymous race saw the victory of Enable, ridden by Frankie Dettori.

Also on Sunday, the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp Longines and the Prix de l’Opéra Longines Group 1 races were claimed by Mabs Cross and Wild Illusion respectively. On this occasion, the brand presented the jockey, trainer and owner of the winning horses with elegant Longines timepieces.

Earlier today, the Longines had the pleasure to take part in the inauguration ceremony of the plates displaying the 2015 and 2017 Longines World’s Best Horse Race titles claimed by the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. The mythical race was presented twice the prestigious Award by Longines and the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, during a ceremony held in London in January. The plates can now be admired at the Club ParisLongchamp.

Along with the excitement of the most awaited horseracing trial, the spectators at ParisLongchamp had the opportunity to discover the Official Watch of the event: a model of the Record collection. Featuring a white matt dial with painted roman numerals, this timepiece is certified as a “chronometer” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
