The Richard Mille RM 07-01 Coloured Ceramic Gets Even Sweeter
This candy-coated collection now comes with a sprinkling of precious stones.
While most watchmakers are saving their big launches for Watches and Wonders, Richard Mille is giving us a sugar rush with the 2026 RM 07-01 Coloured Ceramics collection!
Like a horological Willy Wonka, the brand continues to explore the aesthetic and technical possibilities of materials, colors, and forms within the series, which first launched in 2021. You could also argue that the series was inspired by the RM 07-03 Bonbon collection, which debuted at SIHH in 2019.
So, let’s take a look at this sweet (but final) installment of the RM 07-01 saga.
Sweet Dreams
These editions are available in three ceramic colors: blush pink, lavender pink, and powder blue. While chosen for its aesthetic qualities, TZP (Tetragonal Zirconia Polycrystal) ceramic also meets rigorous performance standards. Meanwhile, every surface of the RM 07-01 Coloured Ceramics editions sparkles in some way.
The dials have a Memphis-style, postmodern energy that has been further jazzed up with colored ceramic details finished to the nearest micron, laser-cut rubber appliqués, and diamond-set components carefully set into white gold inserts. To this interplay of geometric details, the brand has also added textures via guillochage. And then there’s the stones!
Like its predecessors, the three new RM 07-01 continue to provide a playful take on traditional watchmaking. But these confections have been sweetened with the brilliance of gem-setting. It isn’t easy to set stones into a ceramic bezel, so the degree of difficulty makes these timepieces especially alluring to collectors.
The polished white-gold case bands, featuring satin-finished pillars, are also set with a variety of gems.
Just Desserts
According to Cécile Guenat, Richard Mille’s Creative and Development Director, the Coloured Ceramics line draws inspiration from the new-wave energy of the 1980s – an era that embraced bold hues, and unexpected shapes and materials. “These watches play on the juxtaposition of vibrant colors and contrasting textures, asserting a singular and disruptive graphic identity,” explained Guenat in a press release for the new models.
That said, while their fanciful designs are certainly icing on the cake, what makes this trio a treat of haute horology is the movement: the in-house automatic CRMA2 calibre.
Skeletonized and crafted from grade 5 titanium, the movement offers a 50-hour power reserve, stored in a fast-rotating barrel. The skeletonized architecture also allows the wearer to appreciate all the ingredients involved in making a high-precision watch.
We do have some bad news for fans of the Coloured Ceramics editions. Richard Mille says that these three watches will be the last in the collection.
The 2026 RM 07-01 Coloured Ceramics collection timepieces are limited to 50 pieces per color and are priced at $363,000. For more information, check out the Richard Mille website.
