In Praise Of The Black Pearl: The New Breguet Classique 9065 Tahitian Mother-Of-Pearl
The Breguet Classique 9065 brings shimmers of light from the lagoons of Tahiti to an elegant new wristwatch for women.
Breguet has unveiled its latest timepiece for women — the Breguet Classique 9065 Tahitian Tahitian Mother-of-Pearl — just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Tahitian Mother-Of-Pearl
Tahitian mother-of-pearl is an organic material formed inside the shell of a black lip oyster, which is common to the island waters of French Polynesia. The beauty of this type of nacre is its dark hue that reflects numerous colors from pinks, greens, and blues to purples, yellows, and silvers.
This limited edition Classique model is the first time the brand is using Tahitian mother-of-pearl on the dial of one of its timepieces, and it extends across the whole dial of the watch, accentuating this magical nature of this organic material.
Details On The Dial
The dial also includes rose gold open-tipped Breguet hands for the hours and minutes and a unique second hand which has a crimson heart at the end. A date is included in a gold-framed aperture at three o’clock with the numerals in beige against a dark background. Other details include elegant Breguet Arabic numerals and minute-marker dots in white.
The Case Of The Breguet Classique 9065
The 33.50mm case of this new ladies’ wristwatch comes in rose gold with a delicately fluted case band, and the bezel and lugs are adorned with 88 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 0.606 carats). Also, the crown is set with a ruby for additional sparkle.
The Caliber 591A
The Breguet Classique 9065 Tahitian Mother-of-Pearl is powered by the brand’s Caliber 591A, an automatic movement that is numbered and signed Breguet. It features a silicon in-line Swiss escapement as well as a balance spring in silicon and a 38-hour power reserve.
Making History
Fitted with an elegant red satin strap and a rose gold buckle, the timepiece is limited to 28 pieces, all of which are numbered on the caseback from 01/28 to 28/28, along with the timepiece’s individual number. Finally, Breguet owners also have the option of recording their name and timepiece in the Breguet registers, which have been keeping track of sales since the 1780s. After all, there is nothing more romantic than joining historic figures such as Marie-Antoinette; Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples; and Queen Victoria on the lines of these prestigious ledgers.
