Omega has been a brand on the move in 2021. Hot on the heels of the much anticipated No Time To Die premiere and the Summer Olympics, the Bienne-based brand is relishing what it has described as a “record year.” And last week, to cap off a whirlwind summer and fall, Omega, in celebration of its new San Francisco boutique, pulled out all the stops and brought out a heady slew of ambassadors and friends of the brand to what they billed as “The Planet Omega Show.”

The New Luxury Boutique in San Francisco

Located at 103 Geary Street in San Francisco, California, Omega’s newly-opened 25th luxury boutique is home to the brand’s entire range of products. From Seamasters to sunglasses, Omega’s San Francisco boutique has something to whet the appetites of the diehard faithful and newly initiated.

In a press release, President and CEO of Omega Raynald Aeschlimann said, “It’s such an honor to be in San Francisco to open the doors of our new boutique. At OMEGA, we always feel it’s important to give our customers the most comfortable and immersive shopping experience possible. The beautiful new store on Geary Street was designed to do exactly that. Situated in the heart of this renowned area, it will tell the story of our historic Swiss brand while also providing the expert service to help visitors choose their perfect timepiece.”

Omega has rolled out its signature red carpet throughout the store to welcome a diverse customer base comprised of Silicon Valley collectors, Asian clientele, and tourists from around the globe. Unlike other luxury watch boutiques in the area, Omega has most of its popular models in stock.

The Star-Studded Affair

Not content to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Omega arranged a multi-day Planet Omega experience for invited guests, celebrities, influencers, and the press. Impressively, the brand hosted nearly a dozen of its ambassadors from all walks of life.

At an intimate event at San Francisco’s Hibernia Bank Building, Omega hosted themed panel discussions covering various topics. Olympians Dalilah Muhammad, Noah Lyles, and Armand “Mondo” Duplantis regaled the crowd with stories from the Summer Olympics and Omega’s role as official timekeeper. At the same time, former NASA astronauts Kathryn Sullivan and Nicole Stott stole the show by sharing their space and aquatic exploits.

Long-time ambassador Cindy Crawford and her supermodel daughter Kaia Gerber rounded out the star power on-hand at the Planet Omega event. A brand ambassador since 1995 and having played a central role in the relaunch of the Omega Constellation, Crawford had plenty of Omega tales to share from her nearly three decades with the brand. Including the fact that she has a secret 1-of-1 Omega Constellation in platinum gifted specially to her by Nicolas Hayek.

A key takeaway from the event was that everything is connected, whether you’re an astronaut or a supermodel. Space Shuttle astronaut Nicole Stott said of her experience in space: “Seeing Earth from space, you realize that the world doesn’t have borders.” And according to her colleague Kathryn Sullivan who recently completed a 35,810-foot dive to the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, our society still has plenty to do when it comes to ocean conservation, as she recently discovered aluminum cans and micro-plastics at there.

The festivities concluded with a gala dinner at the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. In attendance were ambassadors and friends of the brand, including actor Justin Hartley, TV personality Antoni Porowski, and musician Nick Jonas, who recently wore an Omega Speedmaster in his Spaceman music video. The event was a welcome return to normalcy after a nearly two-year-long hiatus. While safety precautions and vaccine mandates were omnipresent, the event had a buzz and energy that inspired open conversation and dialog among the assembled guests.

A New Trésor With A Malachite Dial

On the wrist of Kaia Gerber that evening was the new Omega Trésor in 18K Moonshine Gold and decorated with 38 full-cut diamonds. The new 36mm timepiece features a malachite dial with Moonshine Gold Roman numeral hour markers. As the face of the Trésor collection, Gerber brings a youthful dynamism to the iconic brand’s newest collection.
