Chef’s Kiss: A Roundup of 8 Food-Related Watches for Thanksgiving

Since today is Thanksgiving in the United States, Watchonista wanted to give thanks for these eight appetizing timepieces.

We like good food. We like watches. And we like getting dressed up for special occasions. That’s why we like timepieces with culinary connections.

Their bold designs will not only invite non-controversial holiday conversation starters, but if you overindulge in pumpkin pie, the watch will still fit!

So, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, here are eight of our favorite foodie watches.

H. Moser & Cie Swiss Mad Watch

In 2017, the rabble-rousers at H. Moser & Cie released “the most Swiss watch ever created.” Called the Swiss Mad Watch, this timepiece featured a case made of actual Swiss cheese.

Based on the Venturer Swiss Mad and meant to be a satirical critique of the term “Swiss Made,” which had been instituted a few weeks prior to this watch’s release and only requires 60% of the components in a timepiece to be of Swiss origin (H. Moser’s pieces are over 95% Swiss), this concept watch’s case was made using Vacherin Mont d’Or – a milk fromage from the Jura that was combined with a resin to form a composite material so that it would not go bad.

Studio Underd0g x Time+Tide Pizza Party

This slice of horological heaven was the result of an elaborate April Fool’s ruse dreamed up by Time + Tide’s Andrew McCutchen and Studio Underd0g founder Richard Benc that featured a fake-landing page teasing a watch with a dial that looked like a pizza.

The design was so popular that fan demand made this pie in the sky a reality. In fact, there are two versions: Pepper0ni and Hawaiian. The only catch is that they can only be obtained by meeting with either McCutchen or Benc in person.

H. Moser & Cie Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Passion Fruit & Studio Underd0g 03Series Passi0n Fruit

If a pizza watch didn’t sate your appetite, H. Moser & Cie and Studio Underd0g are serving dessert in the form of two complementary chronographs: the Moser & Cie. Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Passion Fruit and the Studio Underd0g 03SERIES Passi0n Fruit.

Sold as a pair, the 42mm steel Moser features the brand’s popular (and gorgeous) Maracuja fumé grand feu enamel dial with its intriguing hammered texture, an oversized date window, and a perpetual calendar.

Meanwhile, the 38.5mm steel-encased Studio Underd0g 03SERIES Passi0n Fruit sports a handsome coarse dégradé amber and royal purple sandwiched dial.

NOMOS Glashütte Tangente 38 Date

If you like your watches on the spicy side, may we recommend the Chili-flavored colorway of the Tangente 38 Date from NOMOS Glashütte.

The Tangente 38 Date collection was a big hit at Watches and Wonders 2024, so naturally, Chili quickly sold out. Still, if we wish hard enough, maybe NOMOS will put it back on the menu.

Rolex GMT-Master II

After a big feast, you will want to slake your thirst. Might we suggest reaching for a Pepsi, Root Beer, or Sprite?

The only problem with this idea is that to get one, you must invite your Rolex AD to dinner. So, your mom better make an exceptionally delicious turkey.

Oris Aquis Date Taste of Summer

As the temperatures drop and the days get shorter, who isn’t dreaming of a refreshing bite of watermelon?

Released this past May, the 41.5mm Aquis Date Taste of Summer from Oris was a cool capsule collection featuring melon-inspired dials, one in green and another in red, with white ceramic bezel inserts with color-matched minutes scales.

Richard Mille Bonbon Collection

Some of our all-time favorite confections come from Richard Mille’s Bonbon collection.

Released in 2019, this assortment of 10 limited edition fruit, pastry, and candy-inspired timepieces mixed precision engineering with sugary powdered enamel finishes. Now, five years later, we still have cravings for these sweet treats!

Swatch Seconds of Sweetness

Last but not least is a sugar rush that almost any enthusiast can indulge in: Swatch’s Seconds of Sweetness watch.

Part of the brand’s The Simpsons collaboration collection, Seconds of Sweetness features Homer’s signature treat – an iced donut with sprinkles – printed on the dial. And the matching strap has a frosting-themed motif. Mmmmm… Donuts!
