Behind the scenes of horology at the EPHJ-EPMT-SMT

The whole sector acknowledges that the arrival in Geneva of the greatest annual professional event of Switzerland has be beneficial in terms of accessibility and internationalization. The aforesaid applies to all the actors of the professional environments of horology, jewelry, micro techniques and, recently Swiss medical technologies. This event is to horology what a “fabrics and raw materials fair” would be to the fashion universe. This means that it is the place to be, representing more than fashion shows of designers, which could be compared to the fairs dedicated to brands and end products. First of all, since its creation, the event is ever growing: of the first 92 exhibitors in 2002, this year exceeds the 700 registered.

Next, it is because it is in those corridors that the progress of the sector occurs, as much for innovation, the know-how up and downstream of the finished watch, the materials, the controls and the procedures of an industrialization which never saves the human element. More than 15000 visitors are expected, all of which are professionals. The CEOs of the important brands and the R&D department managers will be accessible as well as all those who form part of the co-contracting universe of horology and jewelry as actors, buyers, researchers and prescribers. Amongst themselves, the exhibitors discover each other, weave indestructible ties, and unite around thematic and common problematic ever since the arrival of this high value-added friendly event. Like every year, during 4 days and in the fringe of news generated by the participants themselves, cycles of conferences and round tables liven up a full of discoveries program. Thus, the 2013 edition places great emphasis on round tables.
