Vulcain Presents its First Worldwide Flagship Store in Beijing
Vulcain, the world renowned watch brand that created the legendary Cricket calibre and earned its presitigious reputation as “The Presidents’ Watch”, celebrated the opening of its first ever worldwide flagship store in the capital city of China. This is a reflection of just how highly Vulcain regard the Chinese market.
In attendance at this major event were Mr Daniel Wechsler, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales, of Vulcain, Dr Tony Fung, CEO of FJ Benjamin Greater China, Mr David Nam, General Manager of FJ Benjamin China, Mr Sammy Poon, General Manager of Beijing Time City, Mr Liu Jian, General Manager of Macau Centre.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was followed by a spectacular unveiling of the flying Pegasus horse, meant as a fitting symbol of a strong, bright future, flying high in the Chinese market. In this Year of the Horse, Vulcain envisions a prosperous future with China. To mark the grand opening of the first Vulcain Flagship store in Beijing and to salute the Chinese 2014 Year of Horse, luxury watchmaker Vulcain has enriched its enamel collection by launching the new 50s Presidents’ Pegasus model. This new timepiece features a universal symbol of wisdom and knowledge to celebrate Vulcain’s time-honoured watchmaking expertise. Set against his story, Vulcain presents two 50s Presidents’ enamel “Pegasus” models: “In the Sky” and “On The Mountain”. Debuted at its first launch in Hong Kong and China, each model is individually-numbered and limited to 18 pieces.
A century and a half of watchmaking passion, as well as 150 years of creation, innovation and expertise patiently acquired and now devoted to defending the demanding values of Haute Horlogerie. Founded in 1858, the Vulcain brand immediately earned itself an enviable reputation through its complication watches. Almost a century later, Vulcain launched the firstever mechanical alarm movement, which soon achieved worldwide fame.
The legendary Cricket calibre took flight before finding its place in the history books as “The Presidents’ Watch”. American heads of state Dwight Eisenhower, Harry Trumann, Richard Nixon and Lyndon Johnson all wore a Vulcain on their wrist, a fact that earned the brand its prestigious reputation. In the present day, Vulcain is the choice of the powerful and successful.
In his address, Daniel Wechsler said that he was honoured to celebrate this very special first opening of the doors with everyone and to be able to showroom the refinement and constant progress in watch design and meticulous technological advancement in which his company excels. A vivid catwalk show and dance performance rounded off the gala dinner. All guests enjoyed a great night in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
