This new image of my tourbillon cage is by photographer Guy Lucas de Peslouan. It is the first real professional image taken of this tourbillon which featured in the first timepiece to bear the Speake-Marin name, the Foundation Watch, which I created over 12 years ago.

It is far more than a tourbillon: It represents the soul of my work and was the catalyst to everything I have done since. It was the Foundation Watch that helped me earn membership of the prestigious Academy of Independent Watchmakers (AHCI). 

In many ways, the Foundation Watch was a template – the foundation – for my creations that followed: The shape of its hands; the pleated crown; and the topping-tool motif of the tourbillon cage, which has also become the brand logo; also the detailed hand-engraving.
