Patek Annual Calendar Ref. 96 Cal. 860'230

From 1937, sold in 1940.

It seem to be the only specimen of the original 96 Calatrava with an annual calendar. A kind of prototype of the future famous annual calendar of Patek. Totally unusually, the moonphase is display at 12, very high in the dial. This watch feature Breguet number as indexes. But the moonphase is also a tribute to Breguet, we could guess that the watchmaker of 1937 choose this solution for technical constraint. So as the vintages Breguets, the weird position of the complication is overall submitted to the technic.

Final bid @ Christie's: 507000 chf on the 14/11/11 @ Geneva.
