Antiquorum – The Selection of Julien Schaerer – Commissaire priseur. Live pictures of the 3 selected lots.
This is the last chance to make up your mind! Tomorrow morning, the Antiquorum spring auction will take place at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Geneva.
We asked Julien Shaerer to select 3 lots of the coming auction.
1.
Lot 225 The Star-lot. The Sky Moon Tourbillon - Patek Philippe Ref. 5002
Specially commissioned for an important Patek collector and sold in 2008, this oversized ultra-complication (Minute-repeating on cathedral gongs, astronomic, double dialed chronometer, one minute tourbillon, perpetual calendar with flyback retrograde date, nocturnal sky chart, moon phases and lunar orbit – I hope not to have forgotten something!) is a unique piece. The case looses the Calatrava crosses and gets six concentric ribs that give a massive and unique look to the watch. This reference in pink gold will probably hit the million Swiss francs! ( will be a blast )
Estimate: CHF 1’000’000 – 1’500’000
SOLD: CHF 1'202'500.- Commission Included
2.
Lot 233 Rolex "Didactic" – The Watchmakers learning Watch…
A very interesting piece as Antiquorum only sold a similar watch 7 years ago. This very particular Rolex is a "learning watch" destined to show the future watchmakers at Rolex how the services should be made on a “bubble back”. Every screw has its indication engraved next to it. It looks like it an instruction manual directly written on the movement!
These pieces have never been sold to the public and it is quite rare to find one at the auction. It is an extremely attractive piece for a Rolex collector that wishes to own a bit of the history of the brand.
Estimate: CHF 1'500 - 2'500
SOLD: CHF 1'875.- Commission Included
3.
Lot 309 LeCoultre Vintage Chrono – Ref. E2647
This 1960’s chrono is an excellent and affordable piece to start your watch collection!
With this very cool LeCoultre steel chrono with sliding rules, good dimensions (38mm x 42mm), box and papers, you can surely start to experience the thrill of an watch auction.
Estimate: CHF 1’200 – 2’200
SOLD: CHF 3'750.- Commission Included
