Geneva Spring Auctions 2013: Antiquorum - Rolex Daytona Paul Newman 6263 Lemon Dial sold at CHF 699'000 (CHF 841'300 with commission)!
Antiquorum wished to end its auction with a selection of lots dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the mythic Rolex Daytona. Among the 13 pieces proposed, the lot 512 was meant to be the special one.
A beautiful prototype of the famous Daytona Paul Newman 6263 yellow gold case with a unique lemon colored dial. This combination, unknown to the connoisseurs, created a fierce battle between telephone bidders and a (very) high-end collector in the room.
Hammer price reached CHF 699'000! The room got it for CHF 841'300!
It makes it probably the most rare and expensive Paul Newman ever sold (in public)!
