The Unlikely Watch Collector: Pedro Pascal

It’s easy to explain actor Pedro Pascal’s popularity. Onscreen, be it on TV shows or movies, he shows emotional depth. Offscreen, in interviews and on the red carpet, he projects energy and exuberance. That he hit his stride in middle age makes him seem like a special kind of star.

He’s not relatable, necessarily (because, let’s be honest, he is waaaaay too attractive for that), but something rarer. We admire the choices he makes artistically, personally, and sartorially.

In 2023, Time magazine ranked Pedro Pascal among the 100 most influential people in the world. And as the public’s love for Pascal has l grown, we can’t help but notice that he’s become something of a watch influencer as well.

Just like his acting career, Pascal’s watch box has range. He’s been spotted on magazine covers and red-carpet moments wearing a wide array of classics. Here are five of our favorites.

We all want to be BFFs with Pascal, so let’s start with the large-format beige gold Chanel BoyïFriend watch he wore to the 2026 Academy Awards in March. One of the things fashionistas admire about the actor is his willingness to have fun with clothes and play around with gender constructs.

Unlike “boyfriend” jeans (a.k.a. trousers that looked like you “borrowed” them from your favorite fellow), the conceit of the BoyïFriend timepiece, which was introduced in 2015, was that it was originally conceived as a women’s watch that a man would want to wear.
 

Ten years ago, this may have sounded like a flirty proposal, but the signatures that made this tank-style timepiece feminine (a quilted strap, diamonds, and a 37mm x 28.6mm case size) are being championed by celebrities like Pascal. In fact, he wears it particularly well (albeit sans diamonds).

As of April, Pascal has since become an official Chanel house ambassador.

Elegant, geometric designs suit Pascal onscreen as well. For example, in director Celine Song’s rom-com Materialists (2025), Pascal’s financier character, Harry Castillo, wears an emblematic Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph in pink gold, with an unexpected retrograde 30-minute counter and a large central second, dual dials (one openworked, one black) and, with its 49.4mm by 29.9mm case size, outsized confidence.
 

The film is about a professional matchmaker, played by Dakota Johnson. During the film, the protagonists all explore different aspects of their personalities and investigate the choices they made in life. Don’t worry, it’s a romantic comedy. It never gets too heady. But the Reverso is an excellent character choice.
 

And as a fun double feature, Pascal also sports a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronograph Calendar Ref. Q413257 in a 40mm pink gold case with a black dial in the movie.

Before he signed up with Chanel, Pascal was a Cartier ambassador. At the time, he revealed this during an interview for GQ’s “10 Things [He] Can’t Live Without” video series. In it, he revealed the Cartier Santos de Cartier as one of his essentials.

For most enthusiasts, being a brand ambassador would cast some doubt on this endorsement; on the other hand, a Santos seems perfect for Pascal. Macho and refined, the watch was created for the Brazilian playboy aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, so this timepiece also leans into Pascal’s playful offscreen persona.

Pascal’s ascent to the A-List is unusual not only because he was a late bloomer, but he is a rare actor who is successful on the silver screen and on TV. His breakthrough role was as Oberyn Martell on “Game of Thrones,” and his most recent movie reprises his TV role as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian & Grogu.

Is there a connection between Pascal’s time on the “Tube” and television-shaped timepieces? Probably not, but the actor is frequently seen wearing the most recognizable square and rectangular watches. So, we would be remiss for not noticing one of the most iconic of the square-cased watches – the TAG Heuer Monaco – on his wrist in the fourth film in director Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman series, Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017).
 

According to an interview published on WatchPro, Vaughn claimed that he wanted his cast, including Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges, to all wear TAG after seeing CEO Jean-Claude Biver talking about time on TV.

Thus, each actor was assigned a different model, and Pascal drew the Monaco Calibre 11, a symbol of bold fashion and technical excellence (it was one of the first automatic chronographs) since it was introduced in 1969.

Because Pascal is such a well-rounded talent (he is a favorite of director auteurs like Ari Aster, Ethan Coen, and Ridley Scott), it would make sense that he has been spotted on the red carpet in a, well, round watch.

At the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards, the star was seen wearing an Omega Seamaster City New York Limited Edition. But just as Pascal is not your ordinary celebrity, this timepiece bucked the traditional expectations for a sport watch.
 

When you think Seamaster, you generally picture a chunky dive watch with an ocean-blue dial imprinted with a wavy pattern. This 39.5mm stainless steel version is much more red-carpet-ready. Its smoky light grey lacquered domed dial with a captivating gradient effect was designed to evoke New York City’s concrete jungle. The back of the watch is engraved with landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building.

Presented on a black leather strap, the watch is driven by the Master Chronometer Calibre 8800.

New York holds a special appeal to Pascal. Although he was born in Chile, he told Flaunt Magazine, “New York is where I lived longer than I've lived anywhere in my life, but I didn't get there until I was 18 years old.” With this timepiece, he is making up for lost time.
