Present Time: Make Gifting Easy with These Offerings from Movado

Movado has horological delights for everyone on your list (and even a few options for the ones who don’t wear watches).

Exchanging tokens of affection should really be a year-round thing. We should really try to show our loved ones that we appreciate them every waking hour. Giving the gift of time ticks two boxes: it shows you think of the person daily, and it meets societal expectations for seasonal gift-giving. Still, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t pressure to pick the right watch for the right person.

Collectors can be very particular about which watches they add to their carefully curated collections. On the other end of the spectrum, you probably have friends and family who don’t even wear a watch. While we were working on our personal 2025 “Nice Lists,” we were delighted to discover that Movado offers an array of watches and accessories that anybody would love to unwrap.

Founded in Switzerland in 1881, Movado has a long history of pleasing the desires (and eyes) of discerning design fans. After all, its radical, ground-breaking 1947 Nathan George Hewitt-designed “museum” watch became the first wristwatch included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

So, in the spirit of spreading joy and goodwill, we’re sharing these finds with you!

For The Vintage Lover: The 1917 Heritage Collection

As you may remember, we’ve written about the 1917 Heritage collection before, but we can’t and won’t stop thinking about this sub-family of Art Deco-inspired watches. Fans of vintage watches know that the Chaux-de-Fonds-based brand introduced its first square watch in 1917.

Fortunately, this modern, minimalist 2025 reimagining gets the heritage right by combining stepped bezels and rectangular cases, with colorful 1970s-style sunray dials.

Even though it’s a modern line, the 1917 Heritage collection is a continuation of a conversation with the design codes of the past. And therefore, it deserves a place in the watch box of even the pickiest of vintage collectors.

For The Watch Girly: The Museum Bangle

A dainty, chic timepiece that functions as both a watch and a piece of jewelry, the Museum Bangle is one of our favorite Movado releases of 2025. This watch has been embraced by enthusiasts who call themselves “Watch Girlies” – women who embrace all the nuances of precision and finish, but who also want to have fun.

Of course, we know that women are not a monolith; they have many different tastes and practical needs. Fortunately, the Movado Museum Bangle is available in a wide array of case shapes (cushion, round, and oval) and integrated, jewelry-like bracelets (yellow and rose gold PVD and stainless steel). Thus, this watch can be styled to match the personality of your loved one.

Wear it alone for work, or stack it with a set of bangles (Movado also offers a jewelry collection, just saying) for when you hit the town. It’s a watch that lets the wearer’s personality shine through. At the same time, it is easily recognizable as a Movado, thanks to the original Museum watch’s memorable design codes.

For The Wall Flower: The Modern 47 Wall Clock

Speaking of signatures, the minimalist dial and the original’s signature 12 o’clock “Dot” make the Museum one of the most recognizable watches in history.

This strong, modernist statement transcends simply being a watch. That is why we are recommending the Modern 47 wall clock for your friends who would rather flip through the pages of Architectural Digest than scroll through watch forums.

This wall-mounted, 30cm masterpiece comes in four different iterations – white, black, blue, or red dials – with brushed stainless steel, gold, or black PVD dots. This, combined with its understated style, means that there is a Movado Modern 47 Wall Clock to match any décor.

For Women Who Don’t Wear Watches: The Fleur Locket

As previously mentioned, Movado also offers a collection of fine jewelry pieces, all of which are based around the brand’s iconic timepieces. The Fleur collection, in particular, features a stylized floral motif originally carved into the back of a Movado Art Deco mantel clock.

Our favorite piece in the collection is the Fleur Locket, a dainty pendant crafted from sterling silver with turquoise enamel or 18-karat gold vermeil with black enamel, and shaped like a hunter pocket watch. This tiny treasure is not a watch per se, but the locket itself can hold a photo, a lock of hair, or any precious object to commemorate the best person of all time.

And although we said it’s for women who don’t wear watches, it’s also a great gift for ladies who can’t get enough wrist, ring, and pendant watches.

For Budding Sports Watch Collector: The Museum Imperiale

Perhaps there is someone on your list who has come to you, like a professed enthusiast but not-yet-collector, seeking advice on purchasing their first nice watch, something they can use as the benchmark for their own collection. You can give them a big gift by pointing them in the direction of Movado’s sporty new Museum Imperiale collection. If you are feeling particularly generous, you could even buy one of these models and gift it to them.

Inspired by a 1981 model (again, Movado is not only mining its archives but is also reimagining its heritage for the modern buyer), this new take also recognizes the versatility that a modern watch requires – especially in a one-watch wardrobe.

This automatic watch is available in a 40mm stainless steel case with finely applied brushing accented with a sweeping polished chamfer. There are also two 33mm versions, one in stainless steel and one in gold PVD-coated stainless steel. Whichever you choose, it’s a great day-to-night timepiece.

For The Movado Super Fan: The BOLD Quest Skeleton

Watches make great gifts because they are personal and therefore meaningful. Traditionally, they are given to recognize important milestones such as graduations and new jobs. Recently, they have been used to celebrate engagements and babies. But because they are imbued with meaning, choosing the right watch can be risky.

That is why we wouldn’t recommend getting this BOLD Quest Skeleton for a neophyte but for a Movado completest or the more daring collector in your friend group. This over-the-top watch is worth rolling the dice.

As the name suggests, the BOLD Quest is a statement watch, with its yellow gold ion-plated 40mm tonneau-shaped case and integrated bracelet referencing maverick designs from Movado’s 1970s archives. Moreover, this piece’s Swiss watchmaking prowess is visible through its black skeletonized dial. The display also features a yellow gold-plated sunray top layer.

And don’t be shy, you are allowed to buy yourself presents too!
