Swiss Day Against Counterfeiting
Counterfeiting is a serious problem which concerns us all and to which we contribute directly as consumers. We must not be accomplices. Let us unite against forgeries. “ We must all stand together against counterfeiting.”
BACKGROUND
The Swiss anti-counterfeiting day is organized annually under the aegis of STOP PIRACY, the Swiss platform for the prevention of counterfeiting and piracy. The purpose of this day is to make the general public more aware of this serious issue, while also providing an opportunity to thank and encourage everyone who refuses to play into the hands of the pirates and counterfeiters and refrains from buying their products.
For the year 2013, the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FH) has the task of organizing this day with the help of the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH). The FH also wishes to associate two other Swiss sectors, which are themselves seriously affected, with this event: the pharmaceutical and audiovisual sectors, represented by the associations which defend their interests, i.e. Interpharma/Swissmedic et SAFE.
AIMS OF THE PROJECT
To inform the general public which is too often unaware of all the implications and consequences of unlawful activities linked to counterfeiting. The consumer who is the privileged target of counterfeiters because of his credulity must be educated. His own conduct lies at the origin of a phenomenon which has acquired a universal character today : if there is no demand, there will be no supply of counterfeit products either.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The general public, with particular emphasis on young people who represent a major clientele for counterfeit or pirated products. To that end, the creativity of young students in Swiss art schools will be called upon to design posters and advertising spots.
