Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Tadanari Lee completed today’s Eterna Precision Challenge to help raise funds for the Saints Education Centre.
As part of the new partnership between Eterna and Southampton FC, the trio were faced with the task of hitting five targets forming the Swiss watchmakers' logo from the edge of the area in front of the Northam Stand.
Lambert, Lallana and Lee completed that feat with half of their allocated five minutes to spare so, as a result, the Club’s new Official Timekeeper has donated a boxed KonTiki watch which will be signed by the squad and auctioned off by the Saints Foundation to raise money for the Saints Education Centre.
Mark Abrahams, Head of Saints Foundation, said: “This fantastic gesture from Eterna will raise much-needed funds directly supporting the Saints Education Centre.
“The Centre was set up in 2010 by the Saints Foundation in the heart of St Marys Stadium to offer an inspirational learning environment for young people, relying on the generosity of supporters and part-ners to fund the operating costs.
“The Eterna watch signed by the players will be auctioned by the Saints Foundation with all proceeds directly contributing to more young people from Southampton benefiting from the Charity’s educa-tion programme.
“The Charity’s ambitions are based on the premise that a good education not only teaches the essen-tial skills of the working world but also prepares the mind to make balanced, healthy, and intelligent decisions about any situation that may occur on life's journey.”
