Official description
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Ocean Star, MIDO is releasing a brand new model – sporty yet slimer – with a diameter of 39 mm, a first for this collection. This clearly illustrates the brand's ambition to make this watch one of the thinnest in its category. True to the steadfast reliability upheld by the Ocean Star since 1944, this timepiece honours the legendary mastery of MIDO, as pioneer in the field of water-resistance. Beyond the remarkable performance of the Ocean Star 39 are the fascinating details on its dial: a relief motif in gradients of navy blue and black subtly evokes the undulations that the water carves into the seabed. As beautiful to look at as it is to wear!
Get set for an adventure – on land or across the ocean, but always in great style! MIDO is unveiling what is undeniably its most versatile Ocean Star model, a sporty, reliable and chic companion for any escape. Its perfect 39 mm diameter, a first for this collection, is combined with a beautifully slender case for the Ocean Star. Its screw-down case back features the famous starfish motif, the emblem of MIDO's historic expertise in water-resistance, now celebrating its 80th year. Screw-down crown, white Super-LumiNova®, stainless steel, Nivachron™ balance spring for the Caliber 72, interchangeable bracelet with "diver" extension: these materials and cutting-edge technologies firmly place the Ocean Star 39 in the highest tier. Its aesthetic is defined by its unique and distinctive relief dial – evoking the movement of the currents across the sand. In gradients from black to navy blue – colours echoed on the unidirectional rotating bezel with aluminium ring – its face surprises at every glance, inviting the wearer to explore the elements and venture into other dimensions.
