Official description

In a revival of a cult classic shape, created 50 years ago by Mido, the TV-shaped case makes a long-awaited comeback, this time honouring the Multifort collection. Its dynamic and modern design is emphasized by a stunning light-reflecting dial - which reveals a captivating dégradé effect that fades from blue to black - featuring a pronounced horizontal brushed finish, along with its distinctive function: the BIG DATE at 12 o'clock. Behind its TV screen, the ever-reliable Calibre 80 marks the time with precision.

Does anyone still remember the very first TVs? Their modestly sized screens were designed with a shape long-since disappeared – an almost square rectangle with rounded corners. Mido used this shape in 1973, 1980 and 2000 for the design of some of its models. Fifty years after its first appearance, the cult classic TV-shaped case has returned to the brand's catalogue. Precision, strength and boldness, the Multifort TV Big Date embodies Mido's historic watchmaking expertise and pays tribute to its rich heritage. Its magnificent gradient dial, which develops from blue to black, offers perfect legibility thanks to both its hands and indexes coated with white Super-LumiNova®. A Mido signature feature appears at 12 o'clock: the big date aperture. Already an element of several Mido models, the famous BIG DATE makes its debut in the Multifort collection. Its formidable, latest-generation automatic movement, the Calibre 80, is equipped with a high-tech balance spring in Nivachron™, which offers outstanding resistance to shocks and magnetic fields. This brilliant flashback represents a successful return for the Multifort collection as it embarks on a decisively more contemporary adventure.
