Pre-Baselworld 2016: BARONCELLI HERITAGE

An exceptionally thin timepiece with timeless appeal

Mido is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Baroncelli collection in 2016. To mark this special occasion and demonstrate its commitment to classic watchmaking traditions, the brand has created the Baroncelli Heritage, the thinnest watch in the Mido collection. Featuring a sumptuous grained black dial enclosed by an elegant round polished steel case, this model is blessed with timeless appeal. Its exceptionally slim case (6.95 mm) makes the Baroncelli Heritage one of the thinnest timepieces on the market. In addition, its harmonious and pure lines are complemented by an elaborate automatic movement. With its Baroncelli Heritage model, Mido has created a timepiece that exudes a rare elegance while magnifying the classic features underpinning the best of traditional Swiss watchmaking.

The Baroque-influenced, neoclassical style of Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II expresses the true refinement of traditional Italian architecture. Its softly curved sophistication inspired Mido to create the Baroncelli. The subtle references to this prestigious building and its harmonious curves imbue this iconic collection with a rare elegance and a resolutely timeless style to mark its 40th anniversary in 2016.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Baroncelli collection, Mido decided to create an exceptional timepiece. With its extraordinarily pure lines, the Baroncelli Heritage embodies the excellence of the brand’s watchmaking expertise and its commitment to classic watchmaking traditions. Its elegant curves are highlighted by an extremely thin case, measuring just 6.95 mm thick. This technical feat makes the Baroncelli Heritage model one of the thinnest timepieces on the market. The case in polished 316L stainless steel encloses a sumptuous grained black dial featuring the Baroncelli Heritage logo at 6 o’clock and a date aperture at 3 o’clock. The extreme refinement of the model is also reflected in its subtle details, such as the three rhodium-plated hands. The hours and minutes hands are double-sided, with one side sandblasted and the other diamond-cut. They can be admired through a sapphire crystal treated with an anti-reflective coating on both sides, which protects the dial. The exceptionally thin case and extremely understated design ensure that the Baroncelli Heritage is a truly unique timepiece.

Inside its polished 316L stainless steel case measuring 39 mm in diameter, the Baroncelli Heritage is fitted with a latest-generation automatic movement. Enthusiasts of fine watchmaking mechanics will endlessly admire the finely decorated automatic movement, which features blued screws and an oscillating weight adorned with Geneva stripes and the Mido logo, through the transparent case back. The latter is protected by a sapphire crystal ensuring perfect readability. Water-resistant up to a pressure of 3 bars (30 m/100 ft), the Baroncelli Heritage is fitted with a semi-matt black crocodile-look calf leather strap and a stainless steel pin buckle, which adds an extra touch of classicism.

Three other versions are also available in this range.
