Manufacture Royale Honoured at the Rendez-Vous de l'Horlogerie in Monaco

Earlier this year, on 30 May, more than one thousand people registered their preferences in the context of the Trophées de l’Horlogerie de Monaco during the Rendez Vous de l’Horlogerie in Monaco. This prize is awarded on the basis of the votes by enthusiasts, collectors of and those who are passionate about timepieces. Three categories were offered for the informed opinion of those present at the Gala watchmaking evening: Men’s, Women’s, and Horlogerie Nouvelle and Avant Garde.

Manufacture Royale chosen by those passionate about timepieces

Manufacture Royale won over the public and came joint first in the voting, with Cartier, in the very sought-after Men’s category, and so carried off the Trophée de l’Horlogerie with its Opéra model, the inspiration for which came from the Sidney Opera House. After three years of research and development, this apparently classic, but fundamentally innovative, model attracted attention at the Rendez-Vous de l’Horlogerie. The insides of this watch, 32 mm by 5.45 mm deep, can be seen thanks to the clever openwork of the plates and bridges through the sapphire watch glasses on the face and back. The manually rewound, mechanical heart is regulated by a tourbillon appears visually to be very traditional but functions in a distinctly audacious manner.

The collectors present at the Rendez-Vous de l’Horlogerie did not make a mistake; the Manufacture Royale stand was effectively visited by a large number of people, who listened attentively to Arnaud Faivre, founder, and Charles Grosbéty, designer, enthusiastically telling the wonderful history of Manufacture Royale.

Arnaud Faivre is extremely happy and content at having had such a success with individuals, who are passionate about the art of watch-making. "The Rendez-Vous de l’Horlogerie was an evening full of meetings and offered the chance to exchange views with a passionate group of people. It is not often that you have the opportunity to discuss with so many enthusiasts and to share our story and the history of Manufacture Royale. Receiving the Trophée de l’Horlogerie from such a passionate group of individuals and sharing the platform with the prestigious firm Cartier is more than an honour, it is a culmination of all our work".

Manufacture Royale also offered a preview at the Rendez-Vous de l’Horlogerie of its new model, the Androgyne, a hand-wound tourbillon capable of running for at least 60 hours. This new piece, still distinctly Manufacture Royale, was conspicuously well received and twelve orders were already registered during the evening. This watch has undoubtedly a very promising future. The official launch of the Androgyne is scheduled for the end of 2011… and the establishment of a distribution network is well underway.

The first watches will be delivered already in early October to those privileged customers, so eager to wear them.
