Svindal wins the world downhill title
Aksel Lund Svindal won the world downhill title Saturday. It is his eighth world championship medal and the second at the FIS Alpine World Championships in Schladming (AUT) after the super-G bronze.
The 2007 downhill world champion dominated the race in a time of 2' 01.32''. Dominik Paris (ITA) finished second at 0.46'' and David Poisson (FRA) third at 0.97''.
