Suave Richard Galloped To Victory In The 2019 Edition Of The Japan Cup In Association With Longines

Today, the 39th running of the Japan Cup in association with Longines was marked by the spectacular victory of Suave RIchard, ridden by Oisin Murphy.

As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of this much-awaited equestrian rendezvous, the Swiss watch brand was proud to provide its timekeeping expertise and to present elegant timepieces to the winning team. On this occasion, Longines was also honored to highlight the Official Watch of the event, a new model from its emblematic line, The Longines Master Collection.
 

On Sunday, 24 November, the iconic Tokyo Racecourse, Japan, hosted the 39th edition of the Japan Cup in association with Longines. As the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of this thrilling sport event, Longines was delighted to time the victory of Suave Richard, ridden by Oisin Murphy, in the feature race. The Japanese horse was followed by Curren Bouquetd’or, ridden by Akihide Tsumura, and Wagnerian, ridden by Yuga Kawada. The winning representatives were presented with elegant timepieces from the hands of Longines President, Walter von Känel, and Longines Vice President Marketing, Matthieu Baumgartner.
 

Established in Tokyo since 1981, the Japan Cup in association with Longines is a 2400 meters international Group 1 turf race for horses aged 3 years or older. The event is the biggest race in the country and belongs to the most prestigious ones in the world.
