As official partner and official timekeeper of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian club (QREC), Longines proudly partnered the H.H. the Emir’s Sword and H.H. the Emir’s Trophy presented by Longines which that took place at the Rayyan racetrack on 28th February 2013. The H.H. the Emir’s Trophy presented by Longines race was won by Very Nice Name, owned by Umm Qarn, trained by Alban de Mieulle and ridden by French jockey Olivier Peslier. This raceday is one of the most-awaited events on the Qatar horse racing calendar and it is also the frame of the Best Dressed Lady Contest and the Best Hat Contest, whose winners have received Longines PrimaLuna timepieces. Last but not least, Longines, represented by Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President & Head of International Marketing, has been rewarded by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa Al Thani, special adviser of the Emir, with a special prize.
